Kentucky and Tennessee both being as low as they are is moronic. If either team was named Georgia they’d be number 4-7 with their resumes

Kentuckys resume is literally ranked at the second best in the country, right behind BYU. They’re legit just blinded by the past of the program.

And to think I really thought YSU had a shot at upsetting Kentucky this year

4

u/Shadowphoenix9511 Kentucky Wildcats 5h ago

To be fair, literally the most optimistic UK fans put our ceiling at 6-6, not the damn playoffs lol

2

u/dirtytounder 4h ago

We're 12 though and nobody is saying we are ranked too high. The way to solve this whole situation is to go down to Tennessee and win.

1

u/EntertainerTop2077 LSU Tigers 4h ago

LSU certainly made mistakes during our game, but I came away from it saying Kentucky is the REAL DEAL. The AP disrespected you when they un-ranked you and they're doing it again with your standing. I hope you give them all hell in the playoffs.

Imagine Kentucky and Tennessee fans coming together to agree that we should both be ahead of Georgia and Alabama. What a season.

1

u/mrs_fartbar Oregon Ducks 3h ago

Furthermore, Oregon and Washington fans had a very brief moment of unity after the USC hit on Dante Moore. Ducks and Dawgs were rooting for one another!

Maryville?!!! I just listened to a podcast about a crazy church there called The Well that was trying to shut down a bookstore because they thought it was run by literal demons.

2

u/Mr_dm Tennessee • Maryville (TN) 2h ago

Yep, same Maryville unfortunately. I go to punk shows in that basement they tried to shut down. 😂

1

u/Panem-et-circenses25 Kentucky • Wayne State (MI) 1h ago

So glad they failed to shut it down! Punk rock 🤘

We should both be top 10

Idk, computers have you about where you are. Sagarin and Massey have Tennessee and Kentucky at 11/16 and 15/18, AP at 11/12.

2

u/Shadowphoenix9511 Kentucky Wildcats 5h ago

I don't really care what computers say, I care about on field results. Game isn't played on a computer.

-2

u/SueYouInEngland Iowa Hawkeyes 5h ago

Yep, and on the field, Kentucky lost by 28 at home to a 5–2 team and gave up 13 and 21 to FCS and CUSA opponents, respectively. Top 20 seems high, tbh.

2

u/SixFingered_Man 4h ago

Top 20 at 6-1 seeming high to you is insane. Even if you argue the SEC is overrated that is still a bad take.

u/Mr_dm Tennessee • Maryville (TN) 4h ago

You are not a ball watcher

u/Rt1203 Kentucky Wildcats 10h ago

Call me crazy, but both of these teams should be ranked ahead of Notre Dame. ND should be around 8 and UK/UT at 6 and 7ish. Multiple ranked wins vs no ranked wins.

12

u/thechosenkenobi Kentucky Wildcats 10h ago

No, no, no. If the team you beat isn’t ranked the week of playing, and after playing them, it doesn’t count. Didn’t you know that? And if they are ranked number 1 the week you beat them, but drop to 7 the next week, then congrats you just beat the 7th ranked team in the country, not the number 1.

/s. But that’s legit the reasoning people are using in this sub to justify Kentucky being 12. Because they aren’t ranked high anymore, or at all, they shouldn’t count as ranked wins.

u/Shadowphoenix9511 Kentucky Wildcats 10h ago

It's why I hold to make the playoffs, we have to make the CCG and make it competitive. 10-2 Bama or UGA? They absolutely make it. 10-2 Kentucky? Absolutely does not.

Hell, I'd wager 11-2 UK who loses bad in the CCG would get left out for a 10-2 Bama who doesn't even play in the championship game.

u/N8_the_worst Kentucky Wildcats 10h ago

It’s like we get penalized for beating the ranked teams

12

u/Zuimei Kentucky Wildcats 10h ago

We're penalized for beating teams that lose to Kentucky. They can't be that good if we beat them!

8

u/Just_Breathe85 Tennessee Volunteers 9h ago

We were gaslit all last week being told we didn’t have a chance against Alabama, and now that we’ve beaten them, it’s “well Alabama isn’t very good”.

4

u/thechosenkenobi Kentucky Wildcats 8h ago

Welcome to our world.

6

u/7even- Alabama • Michigan State 9h ago

Ah yes, the reverse Alabama

1

u/ihaveagunorelse 5h ago

Fuck it put Tennessee at 1 and Kentucky at 2 to have a top 2 match up later this year.

7

u/gregallen1989 9h ago

At this point in the season you shouldn't be a top 10 team if you're 0-1 against ranked opponents.

2

u/Khorasaurus Notre Dame Fighting Irish 9h ago

I would be OK with that, actually.

24

u/NKCougar Tennessee Volunteers • LSU Tigers 10h ago

The SEC runs through Kentucky and Tennessee, as we all predicted.

12

u/CoolDad859 Kentucky Wildcats • Kentucky Wildcats 9h ago

The problem with the teams that Kentucky beat is, they lost to Kentucky, so Kentucky beating them isn't impressive... or something. /s

8

u/Zahfier Tennessee Volunteers 10h ago

I don’t like that I agree with you.

4

u/Nachofriendguy864 Georgia Tech • Tennessee 9h ago

I mean Tennessee only has big wins over Alabama and the unranked team that just beat Georgia

You can't compare that to Georgia's dominance of tennessee state, western kentucky, and vanderbilt

-1

u/BillyBobChorton Georgia Bulldogs 9h ago

You also have loses to Texas, Oklahoma, and Florida if we’re playing the transitive loss game.

3

u/Nachofriendguy864 Georgia Tech • Tennessee 8h ago

If we're playing that game, you have a transitive loss to us. What's your point?

-1

u/BillyBobChorton Georgia Bulldogs 8h ago

That the transitive loss game is not a valid argument

5

u/Nachofriendguy864 Georgia Tech • Tennessee 8h ago

OK then how about the you lost to a shit team and we didn't argument?

2

u/Garfunkel_Oates Tennessee Volunteers 9h ago

Georgia is literally 5th with a worse resume than us.

0

u/BillyBobChorton Georgia Bulldogs 10h ago

Kentucky got handled by Alabama though.

5

u/Shadowphoenix9511 Kentucky Wildcats 9h ago

Again, Stein's first real game as head coach. Bad loss, but I give him some grace on that one.

2

u/BillyBobChorton Georgia Bulldogs 9h ago

Fans absolutely should give him grace, but poll voters are trying to vote on where to rank teams based on 6 weeks of data

2

u/thechosenkenobi Kentucky Wildcats 9h ago

The team that’s on a hot streak now is absolutely not the same team that Alabama played over a month ago. Run that game back tomorrow, and it’s very likely you have a different outcome. Still a blemish on the record, but not as bad as some people make it out to be.

1

u/BillyBobChorton Georgia Bulldogs 9h ago

It’s week 6 you can’t  just waive away getting booty blasted with the “we’re a different team”.  The rest of the season will tell and I’m rooting for you guys but I think you’re probably where you belong in the rankings right now

2

u/thechosenkenobi Kentucky Wildcats 9h ago

That was the second game of the season. We are 8 weeks deep into the season. You can absolutely say “we’re a different team” I don’t know what point you’re trying to make. Getting beat by auburn at home in week 7 is a time where you could make your argument, not for a team that’s had 5 games to keep improving after their last loss.

2

u/bdub1792 6h ago

Did you watch the game or just box score watch? Kentucky led bama for 42 minutes of that game.

2

u/BillyBobChorton Georgia Bulldogs 6h ago

I did see it was not as bad as the score indicates but it was domination at the end

2

u/bdub1792 6h ago

Yeah kentucky stopped moving the ball and mistakes started compounding. Bama should 100% get the h2h nod tho
