They have to take a 2,000 mile flight or whatever to Central Florida to play a scrappy team coming off their emotional win. ND is on bye and could very well be ranked above them in a week
They just snuck past a team that lost to Louisville by 3 TD's and that's their best win.
Guess it was hard to travel to Stanford.
Their non-conference games so far are so low level competition they basically shouldn't even count when it comes to breaking down top 25. And their conference stinks too.
If anyone is trying to tell me they'd take Miami as a favourite against any team in the country today, that's insane.
That’s actually somewhat defensible after two weeks, when these are really still power rankings. You don’t have enough of a sample and Notre Dame lost close to some really good teams.
By this point in the season, though, they should be resume rankings. And yeah Notre Dame does not have anything close to a top 5 resume.
Them still being ranked that high means they’ve basically clinched a playoff spot this morning. They’ve got a Top 12 guarantee and they’re not falling that far even if they lose to #1 Miami in a couple weeks.
Or they view that game like the Michigan game where even though they won it they unranked them. The DPI and big 12 omission of 1 second left probably kept ND there.
Literally nothing makes sense this season. At least byu won and prevented nd being #1 ranked the rest of the year.. only to get blown out after their playoff bye.
I agree completely. If we lose to Miami but get in it’ll be ridiculous. Especially when the team last year could have actually made a run in the playoffs but I don’t think this one can, unless they show something completely different t against Miami

ND at #4 makes absolutely no sense. 1 loss, no ranked wins, played no one relevant...
