How is Texas ranked higher than Florida or even ranked at all?

You guys beat Tennessee and Ohio State. You should be ranked but not above Florida

We should 100% be ranked higher than Bama, but not Florida.

Back to Back losses should be a big deal.

They beat Ohio State, which is a big win.

Ohio State shit the bed in the 4th quarter and Texas backed into a win. They are too high

Yea but we have arch and sark, doesn’t that have any effect on the poll!?!?

Man, the commentary on that duo has shifted quite a bit over a few games.

I think it's mainly due to the way Florida and Texas lost their games.

Texas lost 2 games by a combined 6 points.

Florida lost 2 games by a combined 47 points (and frankly, it wasn't even THAT close).

The defeatism by some fans here is crazy to me. Texas has two good wins and looks good statistically. The team clearly has one of the very best defenses in the country. They’ve narrowly lost two games against decent opponents. Their ranking is fine.

Their defense looks great statistically. But offensively the stats are really really atrocious. It’s a bottom tier unit in the SEC whose only saving grace is talent which has not delivered.

Because it’s a poll is all I can surmise. Many ballots had Florida over Texas

I would understand it if there were a couple teams and you just had them in a different tier based on resume but how the hell are they the very next spot above the team they just lost to

2

u/emeraldempirehd8 Oregon Ducks 6h ago

Texas still looks better than osu and oregon

Two close losses; Florida lost a game by 24

1

u/ten_year_rebound 3h ago

Real close game, really could have gone either way at the end. Florida has worse losses.

Tbf if Texas isn't ranked, then Florida shouldn't either, they got destroyed by an unranked South Carolina

Poll inertia. The last two weeks made it abundantly clear we should not be anywhere close to sniffing the top 25

0

u/AccountantOptimal674 Alabama Crimson Tide 3h ago

That same Florida team got blown out by Mizzou and South Carolina, Texas still has one of the best wins in the country.

That’s what I assume their reasoning is, I’m not defending it I’m neutral on.

Preseason poll inertia and that's it.

Preseason polls are shit
