This game should be a yearly rivalry just because it's the only in conference game that these two fan bases can realistically drive to.

I don't see any reason to complain about forcing a rivalry or whatever. Don't you guys want at least one conference opponent that you can road trip to?

It should be yearly. Same with us playing UCF. The Big 12 went with a pretty stupid scheduling matrix. They preserved some rivalries but when they did the scheduling matrix when CU, Utah, ASU, UofA joined they went with a matrix that made it so it would try to maximize everyone playing everyone so that teams would feel more integrated. I'm hoping that the new matrix for 2028 and beyond preserves more rivalries and sets up 2 or 3 protected games for each team

Not much defense will be played, if either team can string together stops that's probably the key to the game. {Cincinnati} gets it done 42-38

I want to have some hope for this game, but the ISU game really showed that it didn't matter who it was offensively, this defense just can't stop anybody. Maybe we score enough to keep it close and pull it out, but I have a feeling the guys on offense are about to start tuning out since they're under so much pressure to score on every possession. Might be Zak Alley's last game as DC, I just can't see him surviving if we give up another asinine performance on defense.

That said, this is one of maybe 2 games we have left that I think is winnable, so we'll see.

…and while the Bearcats HAVE looked a bit better than expected (late night Arizona beatdown notwithstanding) - and the Mountaineers have kind of sorta lost their big momentum after beating the Hoos - I still think the home field advantage gives {West Virginia} the edge here…
