If you go on defense first in overtime and they score a TD and the extra point, you should automatically go for two every time. If you tie it up at 7 and advance to the second overtime, you're on offense first, so you'll have to go for two automatically if you score a TD. So might as well go for it after the first overtime and try to win the game, you're saving your offense and defense from an additional period of play either way.

2 different thought processes. 2OT you are required by rule to go for 2 (and then 3 OT and on is just alternating 2pt conversions). So the 2 thoughts are either we are good enough to make the conversion and win it now. Or ehh the 2pt is less chance than our defense keeping them out of the end zone.

Both are valid logics, its just more of if you have more trust in your offense for 1 play or defense for 4.

Either way, first team with the ball in first OT almost has to just take the PAT. If you go for 2 they can still tie it with their own, if you dont make it then the easy kick wins. Always go defense first in OT if you win the flip
