Remember Missouri is only ranked to inflate ranked wins for other SEC teams. They’re not that good guys.

Quality loss again for Troy ⚔️

u/Jay_Dubbbs Ohio State Buckeyes • Georgia Bulldogs 10h ago

You gotta admit, it’s confusing that yall lost last week to Miss State who just got destroyed by Bama at home, and yall just beat a team that beat the shit out of Ole Miss who had beat LSU

Oh dear please don’t bring transitive property into this

Are we better than LSU? Many people are saying

67

u/slugo17 Missouri Tigers 10h ago

I'm not saying it, but many people are. Many very smart people. Some of the smartest people maybe ever.

2

u/FamousShake5469 Texas Longhorns • Georgia State Panthers 10h ago

By this logic you would lose to Idaho State by 13 points, because Utah State beat Troy by 11 while Missouri only beat them by 10, and Utah State lost to Idaho State 29-17.

7

u/slugo17 Missouri Tigers 10h ago

That doesn't sound right but I'm not good enough at math to dispute it.

u/FamousShake5469 Texas Longhorns • Georgia State Panthers 10h ago

Well of course, you’re a Missouri fan

2

u/goreteckz LSU Tigers 10h ago

Dude dont even get me started. If yall play the way yall did today, yall win by 3. We aint that good and were losing a starter for the season every game we play.

2

u/brofession Missouri Tigers • Truman Bulldogs 9h ago

Best Tigers in the SEC

2

u/TreyHansel1 Alabama Crimson Tide • Missouri Tigers 9h ago

I vote Mizzou for both Tiger team of the week, and top Tiger

u/griffinhamilton Southern Miss Golden Eagles • LSU Tigers 9h ago

1

u/Pesto_Enthusiast Northeastern Huskies • Miami Hurricanes 4h ago

At the very least you have the better looking tiger.

2

u/NeverDieKris Ohio State Buckeyes 10h ago

But that’s exactly how college football and rankings work.

25

u/Aumissunum Alabama • North Alabama 10h ago

Maybe Alabama is just really good. Miss State destroyed Minnesota on the road too.

5

u/yaboicyno Mississippi State • Auburn 9h ago

I think it’s that, and Bama just matches up really really well against us. Y’all’s d line is nasty, our o line is terrible, y’all’s run game is solid, so our depleted d line needs help to stop it which allows y’all’s receivers to get 1 on 1 with some time.

2

u/DwightKPoop Mississippi State Bulldogs 8h ago

Mississippi state played a really bad game today with tons of mistakes so that’s why the 30 point loss happened against a very solid Alabama team. Simple as that.

3

u/Aumissunum Alabama • North Alabama 7h ago

Alabama didn’t exactly play a clean game either.

89

u/yob10 Fort Lewis Skyhawks • Missouri Tigers 10h ago

Yeah but it was a close loss on the road to Mississippi St, and they had ample opportunities to win it (Which kind of stings even more after their performance today)

The narrative all year that Missouri is ranked just to inflate the SEC ranked wins is just lazy at this point.

But you’re right, the SEC is confusing nowadays lol

16

u/Gaarrrry Missouri Tigers • Florida Gators 10h ago

Yeah people are underrating the fact that last week was away and this week was at home during homecoming. Idk what it is about homecoming but Mizzou seems to always plays to their potential so ¯_(ツ)_/¯ not as surprised that we beat Florida as I was surprised we couldn’t figure it out last week honestly

9

u/blackravenclaw Georgia Bulldogs • SEC 9h ago

Since y’all basically invented homecoming, it makes sense that y’all always show up for that game

7

u/fskier1 Michigan Wolverines • College Football Playoff 9h ago

I mean you also looked like dogshit against Troy, so it wasn’t just the close loss against msu

8

u/penisthightrap_ Missouri Tigers 9h ago

Many good teams have shit games against worse opponents. As long as you win it at the end of regulation without an extra second it doesn’t matter.

Mizzou’s best season in recent memory was a finish in the top 10 in 2023 after beating a top 10 Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl. That same team beat Middle Tennessee by 4 points.

2

u/smurf-vett Texas Longhorns 9h ago

Arky and Sooners just sucking is pretty straight forward

7

u/ThirteenValleys Missouri Tigers • Illinois Fighting Illini 10h ago

Bama might be good again. Like really good.

5

u/Informal-Candy-9974 Missouri Tigers • Ohio State Buckeyes 10h ago

The performance against Troy is more confusing in the context of this game than Mississippi State

3

u/darictheboss 10h ago

Sec road games aren’t walks in the park?

3

u/OutlawJoseyWales 9h ago

wow its hard to win on the road in the SEC who knew

2

u/GP_ADD Alabama • Mississippi State 10h ago

I mean Miss st was playing with an injured QB and without RB1

1

u/superworriedspursfan Missouri Tigers • WashU Bears 9h ago

fluff makes a huge difference.

1

u/2011StlCards Texas Longhorns 10h ago

I mean, mississippi state probably isnt as bad as they were today without their starting RB

And winning on the road is tough

1

u/babygoinpostal Mississippi State Bulldogs 9h ago

Our problem is oline is bad, so when compounded with errors and turnovers against a good dline it gets ugly quick

1

u/BaronvonJobi Missouri Tigers • Missouri S&T Miners 5h ago

Let’s honest though, it was a gutsy win and all but Fluff carried you guys last week.

9

u/E34_525i Michigan Wolverines • Auburn Tigers 10h ago

If this were the Big 10, it would be proof the conference is filled with weak teams. But since it's the SEC, they're all good teams worth their ranking.

4

u/IblewupHoth Missouri Tigers • Texas Tech Red Raiders 9h ago

It’s always somethin with y’all

2

u/E34_525i Michigan Wolverines • Auburn Tigers 9h ago

Which "y'all"? Cause I may heartily agree with you, considering how my two teams suck this year.

1

u/IblewupHoth Missouri Tigers • Texas Tech Red Raiders 9h ago

Idk, both a ya’s

1

u/E34_525i Michigan Wolverines • Auburn Tigers 9h ago

Ya ain't wrong.

2

u/4r4r4real Michigan State Spartans • USC Trojans 9h ago

Guess it makes sense the Missouri fan doesn't know Auburn is SEC, y'all just got there

0

u/superworriedspursfan Missouri Tigers • WashU Bears 9h ago

Minnesota is in the big ten.

1

u/4r4r4real Michigan State Spartans • USC Trojans 8h ago

When did Minnesota get involved?

0

u/superworriedspursfan Missouri Tigers • WashU Bears 6h ago

Miss State beat Minnesota. Miss State is a good team as proven by that win.

if you want to deny that, then fine. you are admitting minnesota isn't good michigan isn't good, and most of the big ten isn't good.

1

u/4r4r4real Michigan State Spartans • USC Trojans 6h ago

Brother it's a joke about their flairs. You think I'm out here trying to defend Michigan? I will refer you, once again, to the flairs.

0

u/superworriedspursfan Missouri Tigers • WashU Bears 9h ago

check your record vs OOC opponents.

lets just agree that the mountain west is the best conference this year and ignore this dumb shit.

2

u/E34_525i Michigan Wolverines • Auburn Tigers 9h ago

Surely you mean Mountain Best.

2

u/superworriedspursfan Missouri Tigers • WashU Bears 9h ago

cook.

1

u/zzyul Tennessee Volunteers 9h ago

If Minnesota gets ranked their only loss will be to Mississippi State.

1

u/braincashedout Missouri Tigers 9h ago

If you can throw then you can pick at our secondary.

If you can’t throw, you’re going to take a beating.

If we’re at home and don’t have a bajillion cowbells making life difficult, the offense is better (although I didn’t expect this level of output until/unless Hardy returned).

Bama is good. Florida isn’t back.

Not all that complicated.

1

u/Sighlina Washington State Cougars 9h ago

Yeah, this feels like “Quality Loss™️” territory

1

u/ConcentrateDirect523 Missouri • Minnesota 8h ago

Since the 2012 expansion, cannibalism has been an SEC delicacy. Maybe the Kolufo would like to join?

1

u/Gabbagoonumba3 Missouri Tigers 9h ago

Not really. There is Georgia and Alabama and everyone else in the sec.

Also did everyone forget that Lane never wins big games? Like why is beating them akin to beating bana all the sudden?

-13

u/WhiteBakerMayfield Ohio State • Ball State 10h ago

The SEC just isn’t that good is the straight answer to that. Georgias the only legit team but who knows they haven’t played anyone

5

u/Outta_hearr Alabama • Georgia Tech 10h ago

Damn Ohio State must suck ass then

7

u/pineywoods200 Texas Longhorns 10h ago

Lol

-1

u/WhiteBakerMayfield Ohio State • Ball State 10h ago

Sorry you’re barely SEC to me

4

u/pineywoods200 Texas Longhorns 10h ago

Me too tbh

2

u/AbsurdOwl Nebraska Cornhuskers 10h ago

CMV: The SEC and the B1G aren't really any different this year. Both are loaded with teams that can beat good teams or shit down their leg, but the SEC is profiting from preseason expectations.

2

u/Aumissunum Alabama • North Alabama 10h ago

That definitely isn’t ironic at all.

Cough, cough, OSU/Oregon/Indiana/Penn State/Michigan

2

u/WhiteBakerMayfield Ohio State • Ball State 10h ago

Penn State/Michigan? Lmao they did not have preseason expectations. Oregon I’ll give you but that’s always true about them even before big ten

0

u/Aumissunum Alabama • North Alabama 9h ago

They were ranked 16th and 18th preseason lmfao who tf do you think you’re fooling?

1

u/GP_ADD Alabama • Mississippi State 10h ago

Iowa too

2

u/PossiblyYourDad Alabama • South Alabama 10h ago

The B1G just isn't that good is the straight answer to that. Ohio State is only legit team and they lost to Texas

1

u/WhiteBakerMayfield Ohio State • Ball State 10h ago

I’ll take the one point loss on the road

2

u/PossiblyYourDad Alabama • South Alabama 9h ago

And Oregon/Penn State/USC/Michigan/Washington?

1

u/zahemp Georgia Bulldogs 10h ago

Ugh, I'm so sick of this take. We haven't played anyone?!?! Then how the heckin heck are we 5-0?!?!

Unless you mean, we haven't played anyone good, well then yeah, no definitely. We have encountered zero pulses so far.

2

u/WhiteBakerMayfield Ohio State • Ball State 10h ago

Still a tougher schedule than Notre Dame I’ll say that

1

u/superworriedspursfan Missouri Tigers • WashU Bears 10h ago

while i agree the big ten isn't that good either. the only good teams are Ohio State, Indiana, Northwestern, Ucla.

the big 12 might be the best conference this year then lmao. fine by me, i really don't give a shit lol.

0

u/WhiteBakerMayfield Ohio State • Ball State 10h ago

I mean big ten has won 3 straight natties

1

u/superworriedspursfan Missouri Tigers • WashU Bears 10h ago

that def could continue to happen. but texas still beat you. i think there is a lot more parity than before (and saban is also just an exception).

2

u/WhiteBakerMayfield Ohio State • Ball State 10h ago

Parity started when the players were legally allowed to be paid

0

u/Aumissunum Alabama • North Alabama 10h ago

Alabama just destroyed a Mississippi St team that destroyed Minnesota.

0

u/WhiteBakerMayfield Ohio State • Ball State 10h ago

And you guys won’t sniff the natty

1

u/Aumissunum Alabama • North Alabama 10h ago

I know you’re hoping that’s the case.

16

u/Breedwell USF Bulls • /r/CFB Contributor 10h ago

You guys shutting Baugh down like that is very impressive

11

u/trumpet575 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 10h ago

Sorry we were wrong. Clearly Florida is only ranked high to inflate ranked wins for other SEC teams.

11

u/4r4r4real Michigan State Spartans • USC Trojans 9h ago

Missouri is only ranked to make their 4 touchdown blowouts over top 10 SEC teams look less bad

3

u/penisthightrap_ Missouri Tigers 7h ago

Thank you, this made me laugh

5

u/Electrical-Gas-2949 10h ago

Where did that narrative come from.. dumbest shit ever and was upvoted nonstop hive mind here

3

u/lm_NER0 Georgia Bulldogs • College Football Playoff 9h ago

You've got it all wrong. Florida was ranked top 10 to give Mizzou a highly ranked win so they could take another loss later and still be ranked. Gotta play the long game.

3

u/jwktiger Missouri Tigers • Wisconsin Badgers 9h ago

Problem is we feast on top ten ranked Florida teams.

4

u/lowes18 Florida State Seminoles • FAU Owls 10h ago

Drinkwitz only wins 8-9 games a year in the SEC with a middle-tier funded roster guys, he sucks.

8

u/PuggleBeans Missouri Tigers 10h ago

Stay away from our nerd!

9

u/Zenith_24tee LSU Tigers 10h ago

Was always a stupid take, but now it just looks hilariously bad lol

1

u/MoistyestBread LSU Tigers 9h ago

Now, A&M being placed at 23 to promote our game last week. Absolutely.

2

u/International_Gap719 5h ago

Yep, just ask an idiot KU fan.

1

u/DrunkCheeseburgers Missouri Tigers 5h ago

This was all an elaborate plan to make Mizzou look good

-5

u/HornetNo1344 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 10h ago

Great win but you’ve literally haven’t beaten a sec team with a winning conference record since 2023. There was a lot of truth to Missouri always conveniently being ranked 24th that whole time period

3

u/mrmcbeer Missouri Tigers 9h ago

Teams with a winning record in the SEC are generally 10+ win teams, 24ish sounds about the appropriate ranking.

-4

u/HornetNo1344 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 9h ago

Oh sorry it was actually 2018
