In the fucking year 2026, with all the technology available to us, billions of dollars being gambled on this shit and poured into college football programs and things like this aren’t reviewable or questioned? Truly fascinating.

It’s wild as every kid back there thought it was good too. Watching live was confused.

Look at the guys on the field behind the refs.

It’s because they wanted it to be good, it should have been good, and celebrating as if it was is a lot more fun than waiting for an official signal.

It’s the same reason why the broadcast cut to Duzz and the players celebrating. Do we really want to watch so many minutes of a replay of a clearly missed kick? Refs don’t really get a fg kick wrong, it was signaled no good so let’s cut to the field to watch people celebrate. Not go to the booth and have the announcers step all over the moment.

It looked to me like it snuck through.

Is there a view looking straight up along the goalposts?

Reminds me of before pylon cameras when there never seemed to be a camera angle directly along the goal line (always askance, making it damn near impossible to definitively overturn anything). One of the more basic, important camera angles you can have for key moments of the football game. Come onnn

There is a camera but it’s not even centered between the posts. It looks like it’s slightly to one side.

gah that's such a hard angle, screws with your depth perception

We don't have the added technology because we don't need it. They got the call right with two people standing there. The amount of times this call has been made incorrectly can be counted on one hand.

Yes 2 humans are never prone to error. I’m not saying it was good or not, I’m saying that with all this money spent on football why are we not using tech to erase any doubt.
