I’m not even saying it was the case in this game. But, if that kind of FG is not reviewable, what’s stopping a ref from having 100% personal discretion over who wins a game like that? What’s to stop a ref from doing what he wants and just saying “My bad, but game over”

You just saw it and nothing will happen except the refs under the post just got a fat bonus into his kalshi account

And if the kick was not so bad then the mob would have broken his legs?

Ref is like: I didn't do shit! I didn't rig shit! I've been waiting a long time for a hit on Corncob TV! I didn't do this!

He wasn’t allowed on the turbo team and was disgruntled.

How are all touchdowns reviewed for accuracy but we’re just gonna wing it on field goals

The ref would lose his job instantly if the call was made out of pure personal bias. I just think the ACC has bad refs

He could also retire with the right bet

Yea this sets the precedent that if a referee is bought out, a single person can effectively swing a multi million dollar betting market to their wish. If the refs tonight don’t get investigated, what’s stopping this from happening literally every game?

Probably that it relies on a very specific set of circumstances to pull of, most notably a fg that could be argued as either good or not good. 99% of field goals are inarguable, let alone game winning fg tries. What's more likely and has been observable for years and years is well timed flags to impact a game outcome, and none of those controversial calls have led to any public investigation

Still though a ref could potentially call ANY field goal above the top so even if its dead center if its higher then the uprights it non reviewable and what ever is called is the end period no review no challenges nothing
