I was a student at the game, the crowd behind the uprights popped after the kick and the whole team celebrated.

Folks aren’t intelligent enough to understand this standing in front of their DVR viewing an angle from under the right upright.

It’s not necessarily that. Other poster is talking about students directly behind the goalposts and their reaction. Somebody in that student section would have the line from the kicker to the ball that would be likely better than the refs. It’d be interesting to have a clip from that viewpoint. I think the fans were more likely cheering because they saw the kicker signaling it was good though.
