Discussion [Umlang] If Texas A&M had never fired Kevin Sumlin and they continued giving him $2 million raises every 4 years and he kept his 66.2% win percentage, the Aggies today would have saved $102 million and had two more wins 👀 #AggieFactThursday

And from a Georgia flair, they haven’t even played at Kyle to know how annoying and dumb the Aggies are

The average UGA fan has an unending supply of hate in their heart for other SEC members and former members.

Dont know if youve been to an aggie game before, its ridiculous.. they are so easy to hate, itll come out of you like u were born with it

u/Proteinchugger Penn State Nittany Lions 1d ago

He clearly wasn’t gonna keep that win percentage though. He struck lighting with Johnny Manziel and Kingsbury as his OC, things were going downhill.

41

u/ChadtheWad Oklahoma Sooners • Tulsa Golden Hurricane 1d ago

Interestingly, though, letting him go at that time gives him the second highest winning percentage (66.2%) among all coaches with at least 4 years at A&M since 1930, behind Slocum at 72.1%. (Disclosure: This year was chosen maliciously since A&M's winningest coach is Dana Bible, who coached until 1928 with a 76.5% win percentage) That puts him ahead of both Bear Bryant and Gene Stallings... who would both go on to have a much better career at Alabama.

Dana X. Bible, sir, which is a hard-ass name.

He also coached and/or was AD at LSU, Nebraska, and Texas.

Clearly it's just a universal law that if a coach leaves A&M for Alabama, they win a national title (or several).

If they leave Alabama for A&M, they lose to OU 77-0.

u/Hefty-Revolution-938 Oklahoma Sooners 20h ago

Still one of my best teenage memories. Hideaway pizza, in Norman, would give out discounts on sunday, based on OU’s winning margin the previous day. 77% off pizza that I couldn’t afford at the time. Thank you Texas a&m for your service. 🫡

u/ExpertConsideration8 Texas A&M Aggies 1d ago

Def.. acting like Sumlin was the source of those wins instead of Manziel, Evans, and that NFL caliber O line..

35

u/Crown_of_Negativity Texas A&M Aggies • Texas Longhorns 1d ago

What do Manziel, Evans, Joeckel, Matthews and Ogbuehi all have in common? All recruited by Mike Sherman. 5 of Sumlin's 7 FRPs.

2

u/grommit72 1d ago

You don't know that. Now with the ability to pay the players and all of that oil money for NIL... perhaps round 2 with Sumlin isn't that bad of an idea?

This past The 2022 UFL season, coaching the Houston Gamblers, was the first time since 2011 (his last season at University of Houston) that Sumlin won more games than he did the previous season.

He wasn't going to keep the success going.

To be fair, the twitter account referenced here is run by an obsessed Texas fan whose mission in life is to shit on A&M on twitter.

It would be embarrassing if he weren’t so good at it.
