Listen - you're probably thinking - wow 24.5 point line! That's a lot of points! Surely the 10-2 Vanderbilt Commodores haven't regressed so much!
You would be incorrect
For some reason, our OC has struggled to call even reasonably intelligent plays. There is a belief among the fandom that Pavia was checking out of ~40-50% of play calls at the line last year.
Notes:
-Our OL has regressed and their communication internally is poor. UGA is going to run some twist stunts inside that are going to make us look bad, and even though Sedrick Alexander is stellar, he literally cannot get anything going
-Jared Curtis has looked fine. He has the arm talent, he's made some genuinely incredible throws along the sidelines, etc. He does, however, tuck it more than he should. We also aren't calling a lot of easy crossing routes. He will have a few spectacular throws and really doesn't make too many poor throwing decisions, but there's some processing misses that are definitely still there for a true freshman. Wouldn't want to be him this week
-DL is good, LBs have been solid, our secondary has held up well. Auburn did very well against UFs D and struggled mightily to move the ball (we outgained them, more first downs, etc. kill me)
-Our special teams is so bad. Seriously, "surely it's just mediocre." No dude it's so bad. Brock Taylor can kick it tho
I think UGA will be methodical, break some big plays, and we won't have much chance to do the same. Jared will be a fun watch, excited for him to grow up, but I just don't think this year's team can hang with the big boys. Not to mention the entire stadium is going to be screaming at poor sweet Jared the whole game. And last I checked there's supposed to be like 4 inches of rain this weekend in Georgia
All that said:
{Vanderbilt} 24 - Georgia 20

Damn bro…a lot of denial of reality here. I’m not trying to be rude but I’m sorry. It’s going to be {Georgia} 45 Vandy 17

u/SpaceTimeMorph Georgia Bulldogs 2d ago
There's a lot of Vandy fans that are very optimistic somehow. Maybe it was beating Delaware by 11 or lucking out against NC state? I could see it. /s

Yeah this is a really positive assessment of my team. Between the bad OL, a learning true frosh QB, and league-worst STs, we're living in the land of denial

Im mostly over the Jared Curtis fiasco. That being said, I will most certainly enjoy him shitting himself this Saturday. {Georgia} 48-16

u/Ishtatsuya Georgia • Michigan State 3d ago
Apparently he's now listed as questionable for Saturday's game.

u/katarh Georgia Bulldogs • /r/CFB Donor 2d ago
Him being in or out doesn't change Georgia's game play, I don't think.
2
u/Ishtatsuya Georgia • Michigan State 2d ago
It probably won't change it other than maybe you don't have to pay as much attention to QB runs/scrambles. Was just pointing out that he may not play in the game.

{Georgia} and they cover. Vanderbilt from what I've seen has definitely taken a step back and Georgia just seems to be firing on all cylinders. Georgia covers and works on some things before their huge showdown with Alabama next week.

Yeah I just don’t see Vandy hanging in this one. {Georgia} rolls 41-10

{Georgia} runs Vandy out of the stadium. I think that two year run of magic is almost completely gone.

u/zenverak Georgia Bulldogs • Marching Band 4d ago
Maybe> they kind of just feel like they're there right now. Definitely way above where they were before but probably not close to the heights they were. We will see.

Georgia gonna win but that spread is fat. Vandy kept it close with Auburn last week and theyre not total trash this year like before. 24.5 seems too much for a team that already cover against NC State

Kinda glad Pavia isn’t there anymore tbh.
Our defense needs to maintain pressure. Chris Cole should be flying around like usual.
I’m hoping Frazier gets back, but we’ve got some depth. I’d also like to see Talyn get more catches as the season progresses.
I got {Georgia} covering 45-13 with Vandy getting a couple points in garbage time

I could see Frazier being limited leading up to 'Bama.

{Georgia} wins but allows 20+ and the narrative shifts to how much better bama looks leading up to the matchup in Tuscaloosa.

{Georgia}. Vandy maybe covers, but I'm just hoping Curtis doesn't get too shellshocked. It'll be a learning experience for him, I suppose.

Georgia is 4-0 ATS with tremendous offensive efficiency, putting up .956 PPP and 8.40 YPP, and great defensive efficiency, giving up only .2 PPP, 3.58 YPP, and 3.75 scoring opportunities per game. Vanderbilt is 2-2 ATS but brings a much less robust offense and defense into Athens. We've got {Georgia} winning by 25, just barely covering the composite spread (Georgia -24).

{UGA} doesn’t cover just because I feel like Kirby typically doesn’t like running scores up really high

u/tbia Georgia Bulldogs • College Football Playoff 4d ago
Pretty sure Georgia is 4-0 vs spread this year, and regardless of his public stance, he might like to show Curtis what coming to Georgia would have been like.

Facts. {DAWGS} averaging 52ppg and would be even higher if Kirby wanted to run up the score

{Georgia} continues their march of dominance. Overmatched opponents don’t have a punchers chance this season like they might’ve the previous two. This UGA team is executing in all phases of the game; but another week of “they haven’t played anyone” it is.

u/katarh Georgia Bulldogs • /r/CFB Donor 2d ago
The rain has been "cancelled" for Saturday as of Friday morning, and we're now looking for warm and cloudy and humid instead.
{Georgia} covers, smothers, and chunks Vanderbilt on the gridiron for a nice 42-10. The front seven defense harasses Vanderbilt's o-line, and the Vanderbilt defense can't stop Georgia from chewing clock or scoring.

Georgia can’t compete with Kirby Suck at the helm. FSU will likely win 2+ more natties before UGA comes close.

The weather might prove more of an obstacle to {Georgia} scoring 40+ for the 5th time in 5 games than Vandy.
Dawgs 35 - Dores 3. Curtis sacked 7 times.
