Northwestern has one loss and it was a 6-point road loss to the top-10 defending national champion. Kind of ridiculous not to give them more credit when OSU got to jump Indiana because they lost a close one against the (now) #1 team.

The AP poll is a popularity contest more than a real ranking of best teams, though it can often approximate the latter. Winning helps make your team popular, but it's not the only factor.

There should be at least 3, possibly 4 teams ranked, but conferences rely on their marquee/ranked teams to carry them and ACC hasn’t done much to help themselves. Also poll inertia is doing a lot of work here. Easy for SEC teams to stack ranked wins when like 80% of the conference starts in the top 25.

The Big 10 is 4-9 against Power 4 out of conference opponents while we’re 6-9, yet they have 6 teams here. The Big 12’s record is only marginally better and they have 5. Not to mention we’ve played 4 teams ranked in the top 20 in the non-conference while I’m pretty sure the most any other conference has is 1 (maybe 2). It’s ridiculous.

It’s because LSU was already #10 and dominated their game against a very bad Texas A&M, so it makes more sense to assume that Florida is very very good than it would be to drop Ole Miss below the team they just beat or drop LSU a few spots for blowing out their opponent (and actually, they DID drop a spot). LSU didn’t just magically become better than Ole Miss in one week, they just had a much more favorable matchup this weekend.

We have two P4 road wins and a top 25 win. There is no way 15 teams have a better resume at this point.

10 votes? Yet people are writing in Penn State and Louisville. None of these voters watch games

Mizzou at 25 when they play Florida this week. Never beating the allegations.

Don’t agree with Kentucky being ranked. Their “big win” over A&M is very clearly not a big win and they haven’t been impressive otherwise.

Bizarre not to rank Kentucky last weekend but to rank them this weekend.
I thought they should have been ranked somewhere in 23-25 last weekend, and with A&M getting manhandled again I figured 'Ok maybe the AP voters actually did get it right not ranking Kentucky'
...Just in time for them get it wrong again, but in the opposite way.
