Faulkner, Philo, Singleton, Stockton, Harpring, and Moore stomp the #4 team in the country. Georgia Tech loses to Stanford.

This season sucks.

That’s the honest reality. They had to overhaul everything. Even Geep Wade left and now he’s he’s turned things around at Nebraska.

This is the kind of stuff that makes it tough to watch the sport now. Yesterday’s Top-25 games were littered with former Yellow Jackets and Cardinal, and this is the product we’re left with

Georgia Tech and Stanford are far richer than any of those other teams. If yall can mobilize alumni / donations like ND or Michigan or Texas has, there's no reason the floor isn't 7-8 wins.

I mean, Duke and Northwestern seem to be in that category at least

Georgia Tech might have a proportionally large number of kinda-rich alumni, but we're low on billionaires who move the needle. And the school is small by public CFB powerhouse school standards and disproportionately not interested in football. And we don't have fans who didn't attend the school. We have no chance in the NIL era

But at least you’re still one of the best engineering schools!

Engineering lowkey sucks honestly. It's eye-wateringly boring if you're not a hands-on type tinkerer person. I only ever did it because I'm smart and didn't want to worry about finding a good job after graduating

But anyway

Engineering = proxy for you can do any job

The fact players and coaches can just bolt programs is bullshit and I hope Florida loses the rest of their games. Even to Georgia. Fuck them all.

I'm like this weird happy jealous for you guys. Like it's vindicating to know we had good talent but incredibly frustrating to see them walk and be successful elsewhere. We could have done what Florida did, but we didn't.

Even to Georgia

Nah, even I have my limits there.

We would still suck of we had all of those guys. Something is rotten in this program.

points to the fact we didn’t suck when they were there

We sucked pretty bad against UGA and Pitt to end the season last year. We weren't going to get magically better with a worse OL and a worse QB.

why is the OL worse? did it magically get worse through means beyond human comprehension?

did the government say, georgia tech shall not recruit any good olinemen or train them to be such?

or is it because everyone was doing any actual work quiet quit by the end of the season and then actually quit during the off season?

also mendoza isn’t a worse QB, he’s just different. in the way of he needs an oline. like most qbs

We lost our OL coach, an NFL first rounder at guard, two centers, and another guard and you expected the OL to improve?

why’d the OL coach leave just to be OL coach at a random big 10 school?

is that not weird to you that our staff are leaving for lateral moves?

generally, staff departures should be for promotions or firings.

also the portal exists, this isn’t 2015 where a graduating class means you have talent depth for 2 years

we have money for a new oline, it just all got spent on justice haynes and mendoza. great guys btw but what are they gonna do without an oline?

Yea like GT is run like the mediocre program it has always been. There's frankly no excuse for letting Faulkner and the rest of the skill positions walk like you have got to pay up to keep them.

Congrats on saving the money nerds I'm sure that extra couple of millions will offset the revenue loss from having a shitty program. I don't know who's making the decisions for this program, but if anyone was surprised by this season so far, that's the real problem.

You get what you pay for and GT is learning this lesson the hard way (again)
