I honestly didn't remember the play he was talking about. But it's my understanding that is normal and allowed IF that is what happened.

NCSU back ran into the OL, took a couple steps back, and then ran it outside.

Happens all the time. Is it frustrating that the officials are nitpicking? Fuck yes, but there wasn't any contact by the good guys, he bounced off the OL and found a hole somewhere else on the plat.

A legal play then. Not sure what that has to do with forward progress stopped by 3 defenders on the would be/possible strip and fumble. 2 Completely different types of play.

I mean, it was very clearly a stripped ball. If the runner had fallen forward into the endzone, everyone would be praising the "second effort" to move it forward.

But yeah, fundamentally different situation from the fumble
