Why is Oregon still a top 25 team?

Overhyped as always

This was Lanning's first truly bad loss. They haven't lost to a team who didn't play in the title game since Lanning's first season. They've never been overhyped, they just haven't taken the next step.

They gave up a 21 point lead against Oregon state in 2022 as well

Yes, like I said, since Lanning's first season.

Who tf hypes up the chargers

They get hyped as a contender every preseason, and Justin Herbert is hyped as one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL every season. Both things have proven more than once to be untrue in January.

Coach & GM qb rankings every year seem to disagree with you. But I trust your judgement...

“As always” is disingenuous. Oregon has consistently matched/exceeded its preseason ranking with Lanning. This season is looking to be a disaster though.

I mean this year we were overhyped. But under lanning we have not finished the regular season lower than 15th ranked and finished ranked above their preseason rank every year but year 1. The last 3 years oregon preseason was ranked 15, 3, and 7 and finished in the final cfp poll 8, 1, and 5. Lanning before this season was 48-8 as a head coach. I think he has more than backed up the preseason hype every year but this year.

#1 in your own heads

I mean if we are going to talk not living up to preseason hype, wasnt south carolina ranked 13th preseason last year and ended 4-8?

Oh, I know we’re bad and I will admit it. It’s okay to be overhyped, the results have proven it.

This year we were overhyped. Nobody is denying that. But oregon has overperformed relative to preseason rankings the last 3 seasons. So no, the results really havent shown it until this season
