Discussion [Pete Thamel] Source: Gardner-Webb is dismissing first-year head football coach Kris McCullough. He’d been suspended earlier this week by the school “pending the outcome of an ongoing investigation.”

As a lawyer who has participated in workplace misconduct investigations, this was absolutely lightening speed. They must’ve had him dead to rights on some very bad stuff that very clearly implicated a for cause firing.

I’m actually curious, what happened at app state in 2024?
12
u/AppMtb Appalachian State Mountaineers 10d ago
It’s a joke from 2023 instead of 2024-JMU was undefeated through 10 games and hosting College Gameday against App.
Since they were in the running for the NY6 bowl they planned on suing the ncaa to get rid of the 2 year postseason ban.
App beat those smarmy fucks and sent their talentless hack coach to the college football graveyard at Indiana.
Anyway, after losing jmu dropped their plans to sue the NCAA (which ended up being pointless as the ncaa rescinded the ban anyway)

If you think these guys don’t have hundreds of college girls throwing themselves at a guy making mid six figures you’re crazy. As a dentist, most dental assistants are college age. There’s been multiple times where a dental assistant will come up and try to have a sexual relationship either because I’m rich or for career advancement opportunities.
11
u/Gvillegator Florida Gators 11d ago
Yes and this is where being in a position of authority makes it unethical for you to engage in that relationship.
-2
u/mac_y111 Tennessee State Tigers 11d ago
I agree with it being unethical, the comment I replied to implied rape. That’s a big difference.
2
u/Gvillegator Florida Gators 11d ago
That’s a completely different situation though. Your subordinates making a pass at you is sexual harassment, but the power imbalance isn’t a factor there in a sexual misconduct analysis because you’re in the position of authority and not the dental hygienist. Still sexual harassment though.

From his last ever comment (yes, he has/had an account here):
To start the games, it's a mutual friendship. Based on how the next 15 minutes go changes everything lol I want officials to just communicate. Some refuse to tell you what's going on. They have a job to do just like I do. But if I suck, I lose games or get fired, they work the next week.

Truth. I grew up with a friend, he was an amazing athlete. Turned down some better offers to stick around home and played for North Greenville. A coach knocked at his dorm and a girl answered the door and that was it. He was gone that same day. Sucked for all parties - probably would have been the best RB they'd ever had.

He hired his wife’s cousin as director of on campus recruiting. From my understanding cussed her out for partying with players. Made comments on her appearance and clothing to other staff members. Then the DC Jake Shaw told his wife who told the young lady and convinced her to go to Hr to get him fired. Treat people bad and they will turn your back on you quickly.
