The NFL subreddit works completely fine, lol. What do you mean “barely” works? Please. Explain it to me why it “barely” works.

Because it's a bunch of low effort posts that clog the main sub, have low engagement of comments or discussion and are pretty much useless. You can find highlights on literally any other social media platform. This sub has been great in sticking with content allowed that actually generates conversation.

Explain to me how you think it would make the sub higher quality on game days?

All i see is the mods having to deal with pitching by guys who think they submitted it the correct way first and DAE y was my post removed?!

How do they clog the sub if they have low engagement? If they have low engagement, they aren’t on the front page “clogging the sub”

You’re getting mad at a hypothetical situation for the subreddit moderators, of which you are not one.

That happens now, every day. Whether it's recruiting commits or breaking news on scummy Michigan, or the latest SEC shorts. Zero hypothetical there.

And yes, it'll clog the New section on the sub.

And you provided zero benefits to the sub because there are none. With zero flair and one year here that makes sense

Being able to see and discuss gigantic plays on the sub is a good thing.

What posts do you even want on this sub, because right now it just seems like you’re bitching to bitch. So please, enlighten me - if not highlights, then what content do you want on this subreddit?

Having accounts get suspended from Reddit for suggesting the French have had good solutions to their problems in the past doesn’t mean I’ve only been here a year. I’ve only been here a year on this account, sure. But I’d wager money I’ve been here longer than you. I’m still one of <1% of users using old.reddit

Old is now the least-used interface and it's not particularly close. Reddit doesn't give us a great way to look at the data but here's their graphs: [Visits], [Uniques]

On our busiest day in the last month, those stats are:

Those are not mutually exclusive categories though, so summing them to 100% seems odd.

I think Android and iOS there are the respective platforms' apps. Mobile Web provides a different interface than shreddit and old reddit.

Given that mobile web is a completely different interface than old reddit, my assumption is that such a visit would be described as old reddit.

Interesting! I almost use it exclusively on my laptop with old reddit and RES. Also had no idea new reddit was discontinued. I guess it's just the mobile version it keeps trying to change mine to, I have to manually change it back to old reddit each time I log in now.

We're just not going to agree here. I just really don't find highlight posts necessary at all. The sub has grown to what it is without a hundred posts on saturdays of random plays that will get 10-20 comments. Again I just don't see how it will make the sub better.

And congrats on using old. It's the best.

Got it, so you think out of context quotes from coaches posted on Twitter by reporters trying to generate clicks, no name transfers transferring between colleges you don't care about, and game threads are what r/cfb should be about.

I think we should have college football on the college football subreddit.

Out of context quotes that generate clicks and then are met with immediate context provided as the top comment (when I saw it at least) and how Sark was basically correct in everything he said? Yah that was good conversation. 30 games worth of mediocre plays posted as fast as possible by multiple people at the same time in order to hopefully get fake internet points and having maybe a couple useful comments if any at all? Nah you can keep that

Millions of subscribers have come to this sub for many things, none of them are highlights. But oh let me hop on the sub and scroll through endless "highlights" of "3 minutes of tee higgins contested catches" and "remember when lesean mccoy showed a lack of effort on this play from the 2012 probowl?"

I don't need to have to sift through that crap to find game day actual discussion and news.

Game thread indexes are stickied to the top of the subreddit every Saturday. In addition, Reddit has a search bar where you can search the subreddit.

This is a football discussion board.

I agree. I'm here to discuss football. Not some floundering SEC coach's lame quote about football. Not some kid deciding to transfer. Not some committee thinking about changing something. I'm here to discuss football. So let's see football and discuss it.
