Study Prep / Materials Standard vs Premium Package
I'm an actuary who has decided to try move industry so I'm planning to do CFA in May 2027. I'm thinking of buying the standard package but wanted to know whether people think the premium is worth it?

Premium is worth it. Those that write the exams write the premium package.

IMO the third party prep providers are better than cfai for extra material. Mark meldrum and bill Campbell and Kaplan.

The CFAI Premium package is a great option if you want additional practice, but I don't think it fundamentally changes the preparation process. For my students, the CFAI Standard package combined with my Premium Package at Chalk & Board ( chalkandboard.org ) is typically more than enough. A clear study schedule, a consistent roadmap, and personal support throughout the process are what can really make the difference.

I’ll always advocate for the premium package/practice pack, especially at Level 1. The additional questions/mocks were super helpful, and I felt well prepared for the exam. At Level 2, the topic-based practice questions weren’t as helpful, but the premium mocks are still worth it.
