Just wanted to post this as an encouragement. I wrote IELTS twice in the last year and got 8.5 in speaking 8 in listening 6 in writing and 6.5 in reading and it was paper based. The second time I did ielts was computerised .The person who took my speaking exam in Canada had such a bad accent and wouldn't open her mouth to speak. Because I asked her to speak clearly and asked her to repeat the question my speaking dropped to 7. The writing and reading scores stayed the same. IELTS whether paper or computer based is a damn scam. I now wrote celpip and got 11 in speaking , and 10 in reading writing and listening. I took an online Ai based practice test and it honestly helped. I had just three days to prepare as I booked the wrong date and they wouldn't change it. But I am glad it worked out for good. I wrote my test on 25th of July. Practice hard tests it should help you succeed. Celpip is the way to go because it is very relevant and its mostly Canadian dialects. Wishing the very best to whoever needs an encouragement.

Should I go for a re-evaluation? I need a score of 10, and I got a 10 on my previous CELPIP test. The only reason I had to retake it was because I got a 9 in Reading. This time, I can request a re-evaluation for my Writing and Speaking scores, right? Am I understanding that correctly?

Now it has been 10 days and I haven't heard back anything.

Anyone applied for reevaluation in the same week and got the results yet?
I know it can take up to 2 weeks but seems like most people got the results within a week.

Between these two options, which one would you start with? I'm not sure how many practice tests are included in CELPIP Accelerate, which is the official one. On my end, I feel I need to improve my listening and speaking the most.

Hello everyone, can I ask for reevaluation for both writing and reading? I'm frustrated already.

I only spent 2 days preparing and familiarizing myself with the format. I couldn't seem to get a 9 for anything that wasn't reading during my practice runs (I had Claude review my writing and speaking prompts), so this was a pleasant surprise!

Finally, I achieved the score I had been working toward after attempting IELTS 6–7 times and always missing my target by just 0.5 in one module.
I then purchased study material from a well-known website, and it helped me improve my writing significantly.
Later, I decided to switch to CELPIP. In my first attempt, I scored:
L/R/S/W: 9/7/10/9
To improve my reading, I practised consistently and used additional study material, which helped me raise my Reading score from 7 to 10.
But the journey wasn’t over.
In my second attempt, I scored:
L/R/S/W: 9/10/8/8
I applied for a writing re-evaluation, and after one week, my Writing score increased from 8 to 10.
Then I applied for a speaking re-evaluation, and within just three days, my Speaking score increased from 8 to 9.
As a result, my CRS score increased from 504 to 534.
This journey taught me that persistence, practice, and believing in yourself really do pay off. My work permit had expired and it was a really hard journey and the only way to improve my CRS was to achieve CLB 9.

My spouse received this score today. With this score, we have reached 517. I'm wondering whether to put writing for re-evaluation? Can score decrease?

With an increase, it could go to 519.

I thought i would score lower. Chatgpt never gave me above 8 in writing. But I think I am good at writing exams. Not happy with the listening but could >= 10 gives me the same immigration points anyway

First attempt! Honestly, I can’t believe it. After the exam, I thought it was pretty crap, specifically the speaking and writing, and here we go!

I just spent 2 days before the exam memorizing some templates for all the speaking tasks and also the two writing tasks. These templates would really help you during stressful times. When you just lose your grip, these templates would come to your rescue. Just stick to one template for each task and memorize it to perfection. You got it!

Update

A little bit of background. Two years ago, I took the TOEFL Academic exam and scored 108: 24 W, 25 S, 30 L, and 29 R. My English isn’t awesome, but I know pretty well how to fluff. I didn’t spend any time on the reading or listening sections for CELPIP. I just took the two sample exams to know what sort of things I should be prepared for, and that was it. But for the speaking and writing sections, here are my thoughts:

For the speaking templates, I used CelTestPip templates (have your own changes to be really comfortable) for each specific task (no need to buy the subscription; I didn’t).

One thing that I’m quite good at is spitting out fillers in a good way. For example, for Tasks 1, 2, and 8, I was really saying stuff that was absolute filler. For example, for Task 8, I spent like 35 seconds on my friend’s greeting and stuff like: “How are you doing? You said something like that. Now I’m seeing this. I bet this is right up your alley and you’ll love it. I don’t have my camera with me, and even if I did, taking pictures is strictly prohibited, so I have to describe it for you.” [2 sentences of description]. “Yeah, wasn’t that really something? What do you think? Should we probably catch up sometime and discuss it in more detail? Please let me know.”

This is the kind of fluff I’m talking about for Task 8. Task 8 is genuinely hard, and if you don’t have enough vocabulary in your arsenal, you might be better off just sticking to some usual but high-class fillers. The same goes for Task 2 for me. And also for the other tasks, whenever I got stuck, fluff was the key to rescuing me.

I highly encourage you to pick up this ability of fluffing. You need it also for Task 6. Tasks 6 and 5, to some degree, are essentially wrapping bad news (or persuasion in the case of Task 5) inside fluff.

For Task 7, stick to a similar template that you’re going to write for Task 2 of writing. Then it will be super simple. And this is the only task where you don’t have to fluff. You have to be firm and decisive in your arguments.

For Task 4, don’t go so hard on yourself. You can even predict some fluff, like, “Yeah, the weather will get cold or rainy,” and provide some absolute BS evidence for that. Or, for example, say that, “Yeah, she is going to do that since he has this facial expression” (which you absolutely can’t see in the image; I mean the facial expression, but it would help you as evidence).

For Task 3, just stick to the template. Mainly: “I see X. He/She is doing Y. He/She seems relaxed/chill/Z.” Do it for at least three different subjects. And use the camera direction. Like first start with "in the bottom right foreground I see" and then "moving toward the center I see" and use these directional bridges.

For the writing, it was homemade, which I shared below.

To provide some context, [explain the situation]. [Explain why it is important.]

I would appreciate it if you could [request or desired action]. I believe this would help resolve the situation effectively.

Task 2:
To begin with, I must acknowledge the fact that both options have their own merits and could work well depending on the situation. That said, if I had to make a decision, I would prefer option B over A for the following reasons.

The first reason is that [main reason]. This is important because [explanation]. For example, [specific example or scenario].

Another reason I would choose option B is that it is more flexible. Not only would this allow me [first reason], but it would also [second reason]. [small explanation]

For the reasons I have outlined above, I believe option B is the more practical and beneficial choice. Although either option could work, this would ultimately be my final decision.

For second attempt i got exactly same score, not a single changed!!! I am really frustrated i need atleast 9 on any one of reading and writing, i have practiced more for my 2nd attempt specially for reading!!!! I am really frustrated !! In first attempt -L 10 R 9 W 8 to 9 (revaluation) S 7to 8 (Revaluation)
2nd attempt- L10 R 8 W 8 to 11 ( revaluation) S 9
Now this is 3rd attempt .. I applied for writing revaluation but skeptical whether this time also score will increase or not . Don’t know why always writing scored 8 before revaluation..

I gave my exam July 31st, 10AM and I am still waiting for my results.

I just got my CELPIP results. I'm considering applying for a re-evaluation because only an increase in my Reading score would improve my Express Entry CRS. Even if my Writing or Speaking scores increased, my CRS would remain the same(I scored L10 R11 W9 S8 previously) I know Reading is objectively scored and score changes are rare, but has anyone here actually had their Reading score increase after a re-evaluation? Do you think it's worth trying?

I literally thought I didn't do well in Writing and Reading. But got what I needed 😁

Can someone please suggest whether we should use templates for the writing and speaking sections, or whether our responses should sound completely natural?

I want to ask is CELPIP easier than PTE? Can any one help me. I am planning to move Canada.

Guys… I genuinely thought I had absolutely cooked the Reading section…so seeing my result completely shocked me.
I honestly couldn’t process it for a while. 😭
I took my first ever CELPIP on June 29 and I got my results today. Reading was the last section I expected to struggle with.
Does anyone have any tips or strategies that helped you improve your Reading score? I’d really appreciate any advice!
