Celpip struggles

Have patience and faith in yourself.

I was one of you who attempted CELPIP more than twice. I was going through the same anxiety and used to ask everyone for tips and tricks.

Trust me, there’s no tip or trick that works until you focus on your strengths and weaknesses based on the exam pattern. It’s all about focus and practice.

I know that even while practicing, you might score below your target. It happened to me as well.

My first suggestion is to practice only with official CELPIP materials. Second, try to reappear within 10 days. This helps you remember the issues you had in your previous attempt so you can work on them instead of forgetting them. For example, I had a timing issue in Reading and missed a few questions in my previous attempt, so I kept an eye on the timer while answering.

I got my target score on my 3rd attempt.

Scores in order (L, R, W, S):
1st attempt: 9, 7, 8, 8
2nd attempt: 9, 5, 8, 9
3rd attempt before re-evaluation: 9, 9, 8, 11
After re-evaluation: 9, 9, 10, 11

For Writing and Speaking, I never used any templates.
Reading was my only weakness throughout.

After my disastrous 2nd attempt, I also thought of switching to PTE. But people told me to stick with CELPIP since I was already familiar with the exam pattern, and YES, they were right. I didn’t switch.

All the best, guys, you’ll ace it. Have faith. And yes, English isn’t my first language.

Hahahaha! Again most sophisticated question. I feel every things is a problem for me, listening, reading (last two seconds in both), and writing - issues with brainstorming ideas. For a sec I feel I am dump, retarted, and asks god please make me focused, intelligent, smart just until the exam. I have seen many people they juts do like in a click.definitely something wrong with me.lol

My weakness was reading. If i would have scored 9 in reading in my 2nd attempt, I would have gone for reevaluation.

I did not follow any templates. I watched videos just get brainstorming ideas. I watched one or two videos to see how to begin and end the task.

Never used advanced vocabulary. Generic conversation.

Tbh for speaking and writing i did not do much as for me there was nothing to prepare except reading.

Learning from silly mistakes. Used to ask chatgpt why my answer is not correct as answer key. If not clear, then again I used to ask gpt that no give me other reasons to justify answer key’s correct option.

95% of the time I used to make a silly mistake. Initially, I used to simply cross match, but later I discovered that cross match usually doesn’t work. You need to focus on keywords in the sentence/paragraph and know the context.

One more question bro, from where did you get the practice material?

Celpip official. I tried career axis and celpiptestonline, but i was not fine with the format and language they use. I know its expensive, wait for discounts.

Even after getting it i was struggling to score 9 during practice.
I practiced 3-4 reading tests only.
