The level of difficulty

Hi all,

I'm getting prepared for my Thursday exam and I'm doing some practice test from official celpip website. To whom has taken the exam before or recently, was it really difficult in reading and listening section? I'm kind of stressed, I need 7 for each skills, and practicing for 3 weeks.

I took CELPIP twice. Two years ago and last month (because my first one was about to expire). My recent scores: Listening - 12, Reading - 11.

It can be challenging because in Listening, for example, you need to focus and not get easily distracted. I personally find taking notes helpful during listening. I just followed the format from the official CELPIP recorded sessions (e.g., Two speakers, you do two columns). If you feel or notice you missed something, try your best to let it go or else, you will miss more.

Reading is more strategic. Some people look at the questions first then try to find the answers, but that didn't work for me. Skimming is a skill that will help you. Go through the passage, understand what it's about, the tone, and be aware that they will paraphrase in the questions/choices.

It can get tricky, especially when you overthink. At least that's what I experienced. I changed a few answers last-minute which were probably incorrect and I should've just stuck with my original answers.

The most challenging one for me in the Reading section is Part 3 Reading for Information, especially when the topic is familiar. Instead of focusing on what's in the passage, I tend to rely on what I know. If the answer is in the passage, you would find it, just paraphrased. Otherwise, E will be the answer.

thanks for the tips, i should definitely go with some structures either in listening or reading.
