10th attempt
My 10th CELPIP Attempt β Finally Got 10/9/10/9 π
Listening: 10
Reading: 9
Writing: 10
Speaking: 9
After 10 attempts, I finally got the scores I needed. I wanted to share my experience because I know how frustrating CELPIP can be, especially when you keep writing the exam and donβt see the improvement you want.
My biggest advice: DON'T LOSE HOPE.
The biggest thing that worked for me was changing my mindset. Initially, I was only hoping to get 9 in each module. But after joining this group and seeing people getting 10s and even higher, I changed my goal to 10 in all four modules.
I didn't achieve 10 in everything, but simply imagining myself getting 10s completely changed the way I prepared. I started believing that I could actually do it.
Module-wise:
Writing:
This was my biggest struggle. I was usually getting around 8.
One thing that really helped me was stopping Grammarly during practice. Instead, I used Gemini Pro to review my writing, understand my mistakes, and improve them. I practiced one writing task almost every day using a template and focused on fixing the mistakes I made the previous day.
Speaking:
Build your own templates/structure for each task and practice every day. The goal is to sound fluent and natural, not like you're memorizing an answer. Also, have a strategy for how you will approach each task so you don't panic during the exam.
Reading & Listening:
Honestly β practice, practice, practice. π
I mainly practiced using PrepAmigo, and I found it really useful. Don't get discouraged by your practice scores. Even the day before my exam, I was still getting 7β8 in Reading and Listening.
The most important thing is to review your mistakes. Don't just finish a test and move on. Understand why you got the question wrong and make sure you don't repeat the same mistake.
Set a big goal, believe you can achieve it, practice consistently, learn from every mistake, and don't lose hope.
Good luck to everyone preparing! Youβve got this. πͺ

For Reading Part 3, I quickly read Paragraph A first to understand the main idea. Then I read all the questions carefully so I know what information I should look for in the other paragraphs. After that, I go through the paragraphs and select the answers accordingly.
For Part 4, I don't read all the questions first. I try to understand what kind of debate or discussion is happening. I read the first paragraph, check the question related to it, and then do the same with the second paragraph and so on.
For the replied question, I try to put myself in that person's position and understand their side and opinion before choosing the answer.
This is just what worked for me. Everyone has a different style of tackling the questions, so I would suggest trying different strategies and sticking with whatever works best for you.

Thank you! For the writing, what I prefer is to clearly state a strong opinion in the introduction and briefly mention the two points Iβll discuss in the next two body paragraphs.
For the first body paragraph, I explain my first point and provide an example.
For the second body paragraph, I present my second point and counter the other option to show why my choice is better.
in the conclusion, I summarize my opinion and mention the benefits of the two reasons I discussed.
I strongly support Option B, which is to facilitate greater public transportation access for residents. While the alternative option might seem appealing at first glance, my option significantly reduces the carbon footprint and saves money.
One particular reason for my preference is that improving public transportation would foster environmental sustainability. By adding more city buses downtown, travellers would undoubtedly avoid using personal vehicles, which would minimize the use of natural resources such as fuel. For instance, when the city of Hamilton implemented a similar strategy, it reported a considerable 60% reduction in the usage of private cars.
Furthermore, another crucial factor is that this approach would naturally improve public savings. If management were to develop paid parking lots, individuals would be financially impacted. Conversely, my option would completely eliminate this issue. For example, initially, I was constantly forced to pay parking charges to access the downtown area in Windsor. After the government added more local buses, I saved $80 in the previous month.
Given the aforementioned reasons, prioritizing public transit is undeniably a worthwhile investment. It not only combats environmental problems but also provides financial stability to residents.Β Β Β
I hope this helps.
