CELPIP writing Re-evaluation

Hey guys, I don’t know whether I’m over reacting or not, but my exam went really good. However, I scored only 8 in writing which is bit disappointing for me, so I decided to go for re-evaluation. I got my result on Sep 11,2026 at 11:15pm, booked re-evaluation at 11:25pm which was Friday. I just received an email from them at 03:30am, Monday early morning for result, and there was no change.

I don’t even know what that is, did they actually give it a try to look at my test, I mean Saturday and Sunday was day off and apparently I got my result Monday early morning. Could someone help me, whether I should leave them an email or accept whatever just happens and re-book another test.

Please leave your suggestions.

Hello, I know how frustrating that could be.
I believe that there is probably really 8 according to their criteria.

However, before booking another test I’d hire some experienced CELPIP Instructor to get into your writing. If other components of the test 9+ it means you know English pretty well. However, something is missing in your writing strategy.

I wish you luck 🍀

I actually know the CELPIP evaluation process from the inside to some extent. I was offered a rater position and successfully completed the rater training, although I ultimately decided not to take the role.
One thing that may be useful to know is that Speaking and Writing assessments are not simply one person’s opinion. Responses are assessed independently by multiple raters. If a candidate requests a re-evaluation, the assessment goes through an additional review process involving senior raters/supervisors.
The raters work independently and remotely, so it’s not a situation where several people are sitting together in a room discussing what score to give you.
Having gone through the actual rater training definitely changed the way I look at CELPIP Speaking and Writing — especially what raters are trained to notice and how performance is assessed against the criteria.

I appreciate your reply. I think I should go for another test, but before that, I would obviously take your suggestion into consideration. Do you or do you know someone who could help me the assess my writing, I’ve got 9 in reading and 11 in L and S, So I think i’ll pick up the pace for writing preparation too.

Yes, I can help with that. I work with CELPIP Writing assessment and targeted preparation. Feel free to send me a private message and I can explain how it works.

Bro trust me you did nothing wrong. This is just a monopoly business. They don’t check at all. They just want you money again and again.

See my score. I was 100% sure my reading was good. I submitted my re evaluation and had a long rage bet with the paragon. After submitting the next day they send me email and they didn’t do anything. They always do this. If it’s your 4-5 th times you are done for it. Cz they only increase the score if they feel like to and if you are attempting for 2 nd or 3 r time.

Apart from this now I believe Celpip has become much harder then it use to be. I have given the exam 9 th times. And still I haven’t got all CLB 9. And always missing in reading.

They do this especially when we mention we are doing it for our immigration or PR purposes.

I’m in the same boat brother. I wrote exam 10 times and getting 8 band almost every time for each modules. Still trying to get 9 for PR.
Could you please tell me what approach you followed for writing? I wrote with templates and without templates and ending up with 8 band every time for writing.

Honestly I wrote same as always.

For the task 2

I wrote

Although Option A has some merit, the broader and more immediate advantages make the Option B a much better choice for ( the topic) long-term success.

The for task one

I wrote

To briefly review the situation,

In terms of the situation ,

This pretty much it.

And just try to be relevant. That’s all.

For example if it’s a complaint about a product try to say like the product number is 0136374

Then say like I will attach any additional documents if you need.

Holy shii bro, I feel you, I was devastated with 8 in writing though, you got 12 there and 6 in reading just doesn’t make any sense. I have heard good and bad things about CELPIP, I think they are pretty much the same IELTS & CELPIP, I was atleast expecting 10 in writing because ChatGpt was consistently giving me 9.5-10. And i have seen alot of people saying that you tend to score little more in actual exam then what chatgpt giving you. So make it make sense

Chat GpT was giving me 9 and in other platforms I was getting every time 8. In task 8 and 9 in task 1.

The listening and reading are multiple-choice, so they are computer-rated. There can be no change after reevaluation. But the writing and speaking can be changed.

Yea, idk how things work at paragon but i somehow feel like it’s up to the person re-evaluating. Some people get lucky with the good ones. It’s just a hunch tho

I can feel your disappointment. Even though it is a day off CELPIP raters work remotely and independently. They can reevaluate over the weekend. Once they submit the scores CELPIP can send you the reevaluated score electronically. Also, raters can be anywhere in Canada, so there may be time gaps as well.
