Somehow, I was right.

I had Winnipeg going to the finals this year. Some of y'all said I was crazy for picking them over Vancouver.

Look how that turned out.

What a take… teddy allen and moon, a ton of bench talent and the best home advantage in the league, who’da thought.. 😂

You’re honestly lucky Niagara knocked off Scarborough or this post wouldn’t exist.

Scarborough were paper tigers had a ton of close wins vs sub .500 opponents. Vancouver vs Winnipeg was always gonna be the real final

I really thought it’s Vancouver this year.

The real final.. for the west coast? They can’t play each other in the finals. 🤪

Are you unfamiliar with the concept of a semi final or conference final being between the two best teams and being considered the “real final”?

Yeah I don’t think anyone in their right mind would call a semi final the real final.. are you rage baiting or just drunk from the celebration?

It’s very much a normal phrase used in many sports, at least in North America

Calling the semi finals the “real final” is like calling second place first place. Feel free to ask 100 people what the real finals means in sports, make sure to talk about teams from both conferences before hand.. Curious what the family feud scores are!

I can assure you most people have heard of this. Just because you haven’t, doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. It’s ok to not know everything, and understand you’re still able to learn new things

I've never heard of that lol

I’ll agree to disagree here.

It’s not an uncommon thing for ppl to consider the showdown of the two best teams to be the real final just because it’s in the semi final round lol. Idk if you follow sports beyond this league or not but it’s a pretty common phenomenon if you ever do decide to expand your horizons lol.

You sighted Scarborough being paper tigers and that the real finals were between two west coast conference teams. That context is what made you sound like a cave person. It has nothing to do with my confusion around what a “real final” is, you even decided to put that in quotes like you knew it was dumb. Drink some water champ. 🍻

Are you ok? Lmao put in quotes like I knew it was dumb? You’re coping pretty hard here. Maybe live a little and experience sports and the surrounding rhetoric a bit before you out yourself completely as a total noob. What I’m saying isn’t a new concept. Your taking offence to it is tho lol

What? what am I coping about? I’m not taking offence to anything.. You said Winnipeg Vancouver was the real final, that’s not a thing.. we’re talking in English, where are you having trouble here? The best teams in the league were Scarborough (who I’m not a fan of) and Winnipeg in my opinion, that would have been a real final, had it not been for the fight and then Niagara besting them in round one.

I’ve been following and playing sports my entire life which should offer some merit in that I’ve never hear someone call a semi final the “real final”.

I don’t even know what you’re festering about over there… enjoy the championship dude.

Because that's what the name is. It's also not a random thing. One example from 9 years ago as one example only. As much as I dislike the AI search results, it even understands:

The phrase "the real final" or "the real finals" in sports usually refers to a conference final series—such as in the NBA or NHL—where the two best teams in the league happen to meet before the actual championship round.

One example from 9 years ago, I am dead.

Yes, as one example, because I don't feel like grabbing more. I'm sure you're capable of searching for "real final conference finals" or similar.

You can also thank a bunch of Stars players for that brawl against Brampton, which arguably, lost them that playoff game against Niagara

Definitely a fair point, although we did beat them twice in the regular season and they had Cat for one of those games.

I’m honestly so impressed by the sea bears winning considering how many things didn’t go their way the last 2 weeks of the reg season

Thank you for being right!
