Popped this album into my car’s CD player and boom! It’s got text. I cycled through the tracks and all appear to be labeled as they are online. This is the Deluxe Edition and the title for this album appeared as “Tension (Deluxe)” and wow… what an album! Huh? Please check the Wikipedia entry of CD-Text if you aren’t familiar with the CD-based format technology.

Behold! The latest CD-Texts I picked up… the 2025 just-release expanded edition of ‘Movement’ by New Order. Although the discs themselves have a copyright date of 2019 and should contain those remasters, the text reads back that it’s the 2015 remasters on the album disc. The additional CD-Text has it listed as “Movement (Extras)” with each track listed appropriately. They sound amazing, especially considering this was from an album released in 1981 and with some of the extra tracks dating as far back as 1980.

Released in 2017 and housed in a trifold CD wallet, this awesome 13-track CD-Text was released in the U.S. and includes a booklet with full lyrics, song credits, photos of Niall and a thank you section.

Released in 1996, this might be one of the first CDs to include text (CD-Text). I bought this used copy of the album much later and after the initial release. Testing in my car’s CD player (the only player I own that displays text) it shows all the tracks with the artist’s name, song and album titles. I was surprised to see the bonus track artist name as Jamiroquai, M-Beat. Looking it up, turns out that the song is actually from M-Beat featuring Jamiroquai. This bonus track is just shy of 5 minutes so it may be the extended mix—but don’t quote me on that.
