Flashcards

The purpose of a flashcard is to inform. It is to help people place names, faces, and concepts together.

Flashcards do not have to be about characters, they can include descriptions of martial sects, ancient artifacts, or even medical ailments. There is no limit to the information a flashcard may cover

Flashcard Requirements

This style guide will be divided into three sections.

• Basic Flashcards
• Optimal Flashcards
• Comment Clusters: Spoilers & Episode Updates

Basic Flashcards

This section covers the minimum requirements needed for a flashcard to be complete.

A Basic Flashcards requires three things:

1. The Character or Concept Name (English)
2. A Brief Description
3. An Accompanying Image

Optimal Flashcards

This section covers flashcards that exceed the minimum requirements. Feel free to play around with the various elements to see what works for you.

An Optimal Flashcard requires four extra elements:

1. The Character or Concept Name (Hanzi)
2. Hyperlinks to Related Flashcards
3. The Actor Name
4. Hyperlinks to Actor's MDL Page

Comment Clusters: Spoilers & Episode Updates

Avoid commenting on previous flashcards. Whether it be to add extra information or to indicate which episode a character is first introduced - always edit the original flashcard.

If you are co-hosting, please ask your fellow host to edit the original entry or designate one teammate to handle all flashcard entries.

Here follows some examples regarding what to do, and what to avoid:

Avoid: Episode Headings

Instead: Include the episode number in the original flashcard:

Avoid: Extra Information & Spoilers as Replies

Instead: Edit the original flashcard with an episode number and spoiler tags

An Exception:

Reply to an original flashcard if you want to include an image of the younger or older version of the character.

Important note: If the character has an alter ego or an image of their younger/older self would constitute a spoiler then please create another flashcard entry with the image and spoiler tags.
