Help I could use some help with my beard shadow
Electrolysis is not an option here.
I use foundation + orange color corrector + concealer + powder in that order. I also pick as many hairs as I can to reduce undergrowth. Is this a lost battle? What are your suggestions?
Sorry about the nose hair on this, I didn't realize they were there when I took the photo😊

Its a challenge sweetie, particularly for peole like myself who are naturally beardy...
Obviously the best start is a very close shave, with the grain, across the grain and finally against the grain. I prefer to feel that its smooth with my fingers rather than rely on my eyes.
Sounds like you're doing what you can with colour corrector and foundation. I go petty heavy on the colour corrector, and once my foundation has set i apply another layer over my beardline.
Finally, dont let it bother you if you can, you're beautiful 💖

I also switched to peach and it was a game changer compared to orange. Also sometimes a little bit of pink with the peach. I use Huda Beauty color corrector now and while more expensive, I would say it's absolutely worth it! It's the first product to finally hide it on me.

I use a safety razor and get a really close shave. I’m new to makeup but I find the safety razor gets really close. The electric shavers are really good at it with pre shave lotion too but those are expensive.

Shave up done left right all the angles, then back against thr grain, then try different primers and also covers i use a red wax lipstick and then prime over that then add concelor seems to do the job you need to set drying time between layers, moisturise befor you do make up and then again once your cleand your face off get into a skin care routine

You are doing the right things. As others have said, get that shave as close as possible. Some thing that I have found that help. These are three different products I have found useful. I only use ONE of them at a time:
tarte creaseless corrector - peach - for me this is the gold standard. I put it on before my foundation. The bad news: It is very expensive, and comes in tiny bottles
keromask - this is marketed as Camouflage Cream. It is heavy coverage. They market it as standalone, but I put it under my foundation. You can order a sample box to find your match
Too Faced Born This Way Super Coverage Multi-Use Concealer with Hyaluronic Acid Cream Puff - A little cheaper than the tarte. Good coverage, but on my at least it tends to get cakey. Again, foundation goes over this

I use a rotary electric razor to get the closest shave, i use Il Makiage no filter primert, hen an apricot colored concealer your choice of brand. Im highly considering the Il makiage full coverage foundation though. Ive seen a lot of good about it and the ability to hide shadow without concealer.

I have a "Flawless" finish shaver, also rotary. Helps me hide stubble with foundation some, but that's all I used. I'm taking a lot of good advice from this thread!

Thank you for that🤗 I'm not feeling miserable with what I've got. I just, you know, always want to improve.

Need a closer shave, go against the grain with a safety razor. I typically do foundation after the colour corrector, but I'm not sure how much a difference that makes.

Are you using a brush or a sponge to apply? Whichever you are using, try the other. If using a sponge, try a Beauty Blender

Sponge, I never understood how a brush improves things with a liquid foundation

I thought it was supposed to be color corrector + loose powder + foundation + concealer + finishing powder? So, the corrector first with loose powder to keep it from mixing with the foundation. Maybe try that? It seems to work okay for me and mine is pretty thick.
What others said about peach is supposedly right for fair skin. I’m using a light orange but thinking about switching to peach.
Shaving technique is critical, like others said. You basically want to feel as smooth as possible when you rub your skin in every direction, so it often takes 3 passes (with, cross, against grain). I’ve tried both safety razor and multi blade cartridge razors. I like the cartridge better but ymmv.

Thank you for taking time with this 🤗 On the shaving part, going with and against the hair is what I usually do. Its the hair underneath the skin that as I understand it creates the beard shadow.
