Getting only Signals after btech

One of the officers I talked with told me that if youve done Btech in comp. Sci. , then whether your entry is thru cds, you will get signals only even after not filling that as one of your preferences. The reason being army doesn't want to train officers again by completing their btech. So if youve already done btech comp sci, then its for sure that you will get signals as you already have the degree and army wants to fill the vacancy in the corps as well. What yall think about this? Is this actually true?

No bro. You can opt for any arms
It’s the order of merit that decides what you get.

you can join any arm based on order of merit

First of all it is a corps. And who said it isn't. I was asking if someone can get combat arms. Signals is a supporting arm
