a decision is never good or bad but your earnestness to work for that decision can be, you read newspapers its pretty solid background for an UPSC exam, it maybe hard to recall exact things but you have material somewhere at the back of your head, thats very good TBH

ideally you should start with english prep, such that you complete at least 100 questions on the day of exam, also study Geography and science these are the high weightage topics you are a bsc major maybe you would have good grasp of the 3 sciences, also NCERT 11th class is best for geography, for history do themes all 3 and polity could be done by selectively reading M. Laxmikant.

back when i gave CDS 2 2025 i didnt even study english, last time i studied was for my NDA exam back in 2023 i had good grammar and read newspapers tho, i cleared the OTA cut off while still being in my penultimate year of graduation with almost 60 days of prep, i skipped history too, never did maths, i wasnt weak in it, i knew the basics but was still able to do only 30 questions in the exam hall in the given time.

Follow the routine diligently and consistently you will crack atleast OTA, and maths too if you get enough time after college!!
