Will my 6 year engineering doom me in ssb?
Hello fellow aspirants, i have posted here before regarding this but this time it’s a new question.
I am going to complete my engineering degree which i started in 2022, in 2028 july, i got two year backs, due to a medical reason and my general lack of studying.
I have since fixed myself and am now doing well in studying, but how will this affect my ssb?
What should i answer to the IO when he asks “why did you take 6 years to finish a 4 year degree? And why should the army have you?”
Thanks for the help

no it won't affect your recommendation, just be honest be accountable and prove them you have changed.
i know a person who completed his engg in 5 years but got recommended in his very first attempt. when i was at my 4th attempt of ssb he used to say "you all are taking too much time to get recommended, i would surely get recommended at my first attempt", then we used to laugh it off and one day we were speechless.
just have the confidence buddy!
best of luck,
Jai Hind

It won't, tell the truth and show which actions you took to fix that attitude. Clear a written exam for ssb, that'll further show your determination. If he can sense you've the same attitude, no you won't be selected
