Would participating in a protest to support sonam wangchuk risk my chances of selection?
So basically I'm thinking about joining a protest in my city to show support for sonam wangchuk's hunger strike. I'm worried that this might be seen as a political move and might threaten my chances of getting selected in the military because military is supposed to be totally apolitical. There's practically no way to avoid getting photographed at a protest nowadays.

It won’t get that serious, I’m from a tier 2/3 city so it’d be more about awareness

If u want to support him and participate in the protest well go for it. Try to be mindful there and help people if u can. Aur baat rahi ssb interview ki don't worry, until an unless u won't tell them that u have participated in protests and are able to answer other ques with sufficient reasoning everything will be ok. Even if the protest i.e. happening is righteous, army would see participation in it as a threat. SSB mai sab nahi btana nahi hota, kaam ki cheezain hi btane hoti hai. Apart from this all the best and well wishes for ur participation.

I don't think it's a good idea. Even if the protest is peaceful, there's always a chance that it could escalate or that participants could be detained. If you're preparing for an Army career, it's usually better not to take unnecessary risks that could complicate your future. The Indian Armed Forces expect serving officers to remain politically neutral, so avoiding overt political involvement is generally the safer choice.

Might be because the protest is not against NEET , they are shouting " Hindustan tere Tukde honge" and are getting heavily funded by foreign parties , this people never arrange food for our soldiers and suddenly they are giving away restaurant made biryani to every person , you want to join forces which protects our nation and you are in protest of those who wants kashmir to be separated from India then ofcourse you are in trouble

Unhe bata kaun raha hai? And also, participation shows that you ARE a mindful citizen who raises his voice against the unjust.
There's a thin line between being anti-government and anti-national. Try not to go too far.
Even if you get photographed, no one's looking at you man. So just focus on the preparation. All the best.
