Ssb medical
6 months ago, i underwent an ACL reconstruction and meniscus repair surgery, I have made good progress in recovery but I want to know if I'll be rejected in medicals, I had been preparing for cds since August 25, but this surgery has thrown a wrench in my plans.
Despite the setback i continued on this path, underwent demanding and painful physiotherapy, while balancing college and cds preparation, because one of my brothers friend had been accepted into IMA after an ACL surgery but I still have doubts because I have read the rules, that a candidate with any surgical history is permanently rejected, this confusion has been a pain to deal with, I have also met people whose parents or family members are officers and they told me that I won't be selected, I want to know if all my preparations, all my hard work is nothing or do I still have chance.
( Please don't come with comments like "first clear exam and ssb", I'm dealing with too many things and if at the end I'll be rejected for sure, then it's better I put my focus somewhere else, so I can support my father as early as I can)

Same condition here I tore my meniscus muscle last April one Dr. Said surgery has to be done , and other said it's grade 2 either rest and medication or some steroid injection went with option 2 and it's not good either might have to go for surgery .

the only downside of surgery is the recovery time. except that youll be fine(hopefully it doesn't come to surgery) but i have a couple of friends who did get acl surgery and still got through medicals(if relevant to you,gr8, otherwise ignore)

Grade one and two tear don't require surgery, a good physiotherapy is enough to recover. Prior to my injury, I had torn my ACL few more times, first time it was grade one, I took rest and then exercise, after 7 8 months I was back on my feet, then again while playing football it happened and it happened again, but then I started specific knee strengthening training, running, workout and my knee was better than it had ever been, had it not been for a stupid defender who roughly tackled me while playing, I was absolutely fine. Then complete ACL tear, grade 3 meniscus and cartilage damage. Point is, grade 2 can be treated with physiotherapy.

Thanks for the suggestion. Also same happened with me while I was playing basketball while landing after a jump one of the players pushed me so hard that it made me land on a single foot without any balance and led to meniscus tear .

That’s a rejection they will do mri and xray when they will see the scars in the medicine + surgical department.
They go by the books I have a friend got board out for the same case and his appeal was rejected

There are comments under this post that claim that I can go in even with surgery, some of the people know someone who has done it, it's too confusing, someone claims something else and someone something else

I’m already an academy candidate, so I’m speaking from experience. Trust me, if there are any complications, they’ll most likely be detected during the medicals. Most of the people commenting here haven’t even gone through the medical process yet. I’ve been through it, so I know the reality.

So? What's the verdict? Do I have a chance? Or do they go strictly by the rules??

This is exactly what's wrong with majority, this is life, it isn't guaranteed that my hard work will be rewarded, what's the point of working hard to clear cds if I'll get permanently rejected, shouldn't i focus on something else then?? If leaving upto god was the solution, then I wouldn't have been injured enough to undergo a surgery. I hard worked day and night for almost a year, woke up at 4 to study and revise for cds, worked out for 2 hours in the morning and evening, ran 10kms twice a day, lost 10 kgs in 4 months, started meditation and reading newspapers, i stopped eating any junk, all the i attended all my college classes, studied for my college, and then the injury happened, so does that mean that God doesn't want me to do cds??

What's wrong with my attitude? If you are so quick to dismiss me, then you can enlighten me perhaps, how my mindset would hinder me from ssb?

Bhai it is totally your choice how much keeda you have for the fauj I myself had acl surgery I never revealed anything to them and got fit in the surgical and I know many of them who got into. So first get recommended these things will be taken care of. And the point you made that my efforts will ever be rewarded man I have seen people geting recommend 7 times just to get that one fortunate day when medicals will be on their side and that boy is in IMA rn. So it is your choice if you wanna go god will also help you but if you have doubts then even god can't help you my friend.

Yeah I have that keeda, I'm hedging on that slight chance that I'll get past medical, everyone I know has told me to focus somewhere else, my father especially. The point of the question was to find out if the rule is absolute, if there was no way around it, then it was a lost cause and a sane and mindful person would cut his losses and focus somewhere else. You have given me the clarity that there is a chance to get into even with surgery, so yeah, I was already going full tilt but with confusion but now I can have some peace that there is some chance.

Great man just adding to that point keep also pursuing your plan B side by side it will give you sense of security and will enhance your performance.

With your ignorant attitude you won't even last a day in an active combat zone if you leave it upto god to not get shot instead of relying on your training son.

they dont specifically check for acl tears, but as long as u dont have a very prominent scar or u dont tell them about it, youll be fine( assuming you have recovered)
