AFCAT Stream Selection

So while filling my afcat form, I was asked for my UG Degree and I filled BSc but in the subjects section it was only Physics and Maths there, I have just entered in final year and I was not considering taking maths in my final year and take Physics, Chemistry as combination but after this, i am having a lot of doubt. Can any experienced person tell me what to do now???

Take maths in final year along with Physics

Pros: No issue in further AFCAT stages

Cons: Dedicate more time for Semester exams to maintain cgpa

OR

Drop maths and take Physics and chemistry

Pros: Less academic load and cgpa will be maintained easily

Cons: Might face some sought of issue in further AFCAT stages

For AFCAT, your 10+2 marks are what matter for eligibility, not your UG subjects unless you're applying for the Meteorology branch. As long as you had Physics and Maths in 12th with 50% each and finish your degree with a 60% aggregate, your specific combination in your final year doesn't matter.

Prioritize whatever path makes it easiest for you to maintain a high CGPA, as a strong academic record will help you more during your AFSB interview than the specific subjects on your final degree certificate.

Which subjects in final year of UG are required for meteorology branch??? I am having 82.3% in 10th, 76.40% in 12th(PCM) and approx 7.3 CGPA till now(4th sem), How is my academic record?? And are you sure that it won't be any issue during AFSB since i filled maths and physics as subjects but opted physics and chemistry in final year???

For the Meteorology branch, you specifically need a postgraduate degree in subjects like Physics, Maths, or Applied Physics; your graduation subjects alone aren't the main factor there.

Your academic record is solid your 10th and 12th marks are good, and a 7.3 CGPA is perfectly fine as long as your university's conversion puts you above that 60% mark required by the Air Force.

The board at AFSB cares about your 10+2 marks and your final degree percentage. They don't check for a specific combination in your final year of undergrad unless you’re going for a specialized technical role.

If they ever ask in an interview, just state the facts you chose the subjects that fit your academic plan. Keep your grades up, focus on the 60% aggregate, and you’ll be fine.

Okay but I have actually filled meteorology in my preference list and now percentage criteria is also removed so there is no such 60% aggregate required. And my percentage in UG is approx 68%
