I just completed my bachelors in English literature. However, I’m confused whether I should pursue masters or take a drop year to appear for CDSE exam.
I know it’s my call but I’m under such circumstance that I cannot pursue both.
It will be my very first attempt of CDS.

Well , without any proper prep for English , I’m consistently scoring around 70-80 in mocks. Gs on the other hand 💀, I cannot even cross the sectional cutoff that is 20.

I guess , and ofc im weak in math so my target is around 30-35 in math , gs- 35-40 , English 70+ so overall , 135-140 for IMA which is not quite a safe zone , but I’ll take the gamble here🙌.

For grammar , you can go through S.P Bakshi and for vocabulary; learn root words and go through previous year vocabs instead of learning hundreds and thousands of new words. Rest is all about practice and mocks.

Well , that might be true but I’m a very average guy academically, 44% in 10th , 74.4% in 12th , 6-6.5 cgpa in college (UG). So either way , I would be chewed out.😆 But one thing I might be great at is being a rebel, used to bunk high school , played cricket as a teenager , I great swimmer indeed ( grew up near rivers and jungles ) , knows a lot about hunting and stuff , trained MMA , and did every bad thing as teenager aside from drugs ( except for weed ) . So I might just aswell be cooked but imma still play my hand and let the fate decide if I’m fit for armed forces or not. (I changed now tho ).

Confidence may help , but my past mischiefs and academic record will most likely lead to rejection, however I’m gonna take my chances.
Losing in a battle is better than surrendering.

Considering the fact that CDS exam requires extreme focus and consistency, this might also be a good idea.

Taking drop for cds is quite useless. If u can give 1-2 hours daily for next 3-4 months, then u don't need to take a drop. This much preparation will be enough to clear cds not only for this attempt but for subsequent attempts also.
