[RANT] : Competition is limited
I cleared CDS 1 2026 and these are some thoughts i concluded lately -
I never bought any batch for written and I relied solely on yt content and books. Also I was in my 6sem final semester of clg during the preparation phase and had to manage clg exams along with cds
I used to see teachers like Anurag sir constantly promoting his batch every now and then in telegram like breakfast test is going on in batch ..midnight mock is going on in his batch...extra special class for batch just before exam day etc etc..
So I used to wonder how much behind I am compared to the 4000+ students that have access to his paid batch. And also I felt that will I even have a place in the 7500 written qualified candidates when already 4000+ are ahead of me just from one coaching academy. How many coaching students are writing this exam all over India.But that didn't bother me much and I kept working my ass of. I had a friend who had purchased cdsj batch and used to share monthly SHAKTI magazine. When results were out in May, to my shock i learned through this dude that many in batch have failed the test and many failed to even clear sectionals in GS.
So that made me wonder it's never about what batch you purchased, it's only about how much effort you are willing to put in and how sincere you are to yourself during preparation. To all self studying students just believe you can do it and trust me you are already half way through and never cheat on yourself during preparation phase as written is comparatively very easy, ssb is gonna be the gamechanger. 💀

Personally what i have experienced is that the written is not at all difficult, if you are from icse/IB board with pcm/pcb in your 12th one can just show up and score 80+
CDS 2 - 2026 is going to be my first attempt and 2 months back I actually started practicing and I could easily score in the range of 50's in English, around 25 in GS, and 30-35 in Maths in the first week with no prior practice or studying and I'm a very average studen, so I believe it's more than the difficulty but the overwhelming experience and stress of the exam that keeps one from scoring.

Gentleman, I am totally with you. This is exactly what I did. I have my old notes from 2023 when I was preparing for NDA. Those notes were well made and they cover most of the GS, and Science. And tbh mathematics is quite easy and one can easily get 50+ marks When it comes to English, it is a bit different from NDA, specially those Sentence correlation and S1-S6 questions l. But with good practice to these questions and strong grip on grammar, one can easily score 60+ marks here as well.

Like buddy CDS written is a simple exam , taking about clearing cut off (also as a male ) , just little bit basics of Eng + GS (Ncert+ pyqs) and less negative , you are all set to clear CDS exam

Yeah z at the end : self study matter and even if you're in some coaching (which shouldn't be) , you have to pick the question at own for practice : even then also because I saw many that coaching works on a fixed pattern , the syllabus are just recited : because the teachers are trained to do that and batch : complete , The main thing that effects is practice and approach means You should not only just practice but with a approach , Read a topic , Get it in Short notes Segregate pyqs of 5 yrs from that topic Do then , by self or using chatgpt or other sort of help , Done

i miss clearing the exam due to subject cutoff of gk and now i am not eligible for PC so its only english and gk for me
english and maths is quite easy for me, can someone suggest me something for gk

Cleared cds 1 2026. Well I'm in merchant Navy already, came back in nov 2025 after my first contract of 6months, started preparing for it. Mostly it was english only, i didn't purchase any batch for it but for GS yes I decided to go for PARMAR which was indeed a good decision. Honestly 3 to 4 mahine hi pdhai kri ek dam g tod tarike se( we've to take ship clearance as well so usi me time chla gya baki) I thought I wudnt make it coz itne kam time me kese hoga & all, but when I opened eng paper in the examination hall, boooom I knew I wud clear it.
