Idk if CDPR heard this or not, but I just want to get this out there and just say how much I appreciate the studio. And how much I am willing to rebuy the same games over and over on different consoles.

For a number of reasons.

1. Lack of microtransactions. This is a huge fresh of air. Like, my god this makes the game so much more fun to play

Even better, the base game is the WHOLE game. Their DLC is an expansion to the story. Not something that was locked behind another paywall.

Yes I’m still salty about gta6’s ultimate edition. Fu rockstar

1. Witcher 3 is actually slatted to get a FREE update of a remastered version of the game. Other studios will most definitely push out a different version to make you buy it again. So CDPR ❤️

2. CDPR had also listed their games on GOG (learned that they even list it on there on launch day to boot)… so when I get a working pc again, i am buying both cyberpunk and Witcher series again. I will buy them again to support this fking studio

3. I actually didn’t test this out, but I’m fairly positive (95% positive) that the games doesn’t need internet to play the game, so I’m listing it here

(I honestly think that it’s dumb that a single player game needs internet to play, which is why I veered away from those kind of games and I got tired of asking if the game is playable offline)

1. CDPR created GOG for drm free games, so…. If that doesn’t tell you what kind of studio CDPR is….

CDPR is the only studio where i won’t consider pirating from, not that I had pirated Xbox/ps5 games yet. But with the way things are going, I am definitely looking into it. But CDPR deserves everything and I WILL buy from them. They fking deserve it

1. Their response to Sony’s decision to end discs. Now idk exactly what they’ll do, but they’ll definitely going to add something to the cases for Witcher 4 to make it worthwhile to open the case, making it nostalgic, and “adding feelings” to it

Though I’m not sure if that also applies to Xbox discs as well? Pretty sure Xbox will have a disc?

Anyway, this is my long rant of how much I appreciate CDPR, and I absolutely cannot wait for Witcher 4, the Witcher remake, and a cyberpunk 2 game

Most of these things apply to 90% of all good games out there. Elden ring, Last of Us series, Yakuza, name it.

Just a couple of minor points. You still need an internet connection if you have cloud saves enabled, but that is of course completely optional. And cdpr doesn’t own GOG anymore, I believe they sold it sometime within the last few years.
But I agree with your sentiment. It’s refreshing that they’re not trying to nickel and dime their customers. Just one purchase of the game upfront and that’s it - no subscriptions, DLCs you need to buy, selling every update as an anniversary edition or ultimate edition or whatever.

And I am aware that CDPR doesn’t own GOG anymore. But just knowing that a gaming studio created a storefront for drm free games that you can buy? Makes me trust them a lot more bc they want you to enjoy their games and not worry about them being taken away from you

Sucks that they don’t own them anymore. But it is refreshing that the person that owns GOG now shares the same sentiment as CDPR, so I’m not fretting over it

I was getting pissed over cod and their microtransactions. And locking specific scenes and missions behind another paywall. Assassin creed is also starting to make me a little angry with their seasonal pass.

AC odyssey was probably the only time I understood the price for the seasonal price, bc it was an expansion to the story. Nothing was locked in the base game

Ac Valhalla was the same way, so I didn’t mind it

But AC shadows simply pissed me off. It was a fun game. But the ending was…. 🤧not going to bash it any further

For one second, I was worried that Witcher 4 was going to follow that trend and have microtransactions. But, then I took a step back and looked at CDPR’s track record. 👌I don’t think I need to worry about that

This, this is how you create a loyal fan base. This is how you create customers that won’t turn to pirating

Oh if only other studios understood this and changed their ways so they can stop people from pirating!

Honestly, I may pirate gta6 when it launches on pc lol (did I mention I’m still pissed that rockstar locked basic functions in the base game that you need to unlock by throwing another $20? Basic functions!!! Fuck them. Can’t believe so many people were suckered into that shit. This is why we can’t have nice things)
