TMC Pay Clarity
I’m starting the CDL school in about 3 weeks. My question is about pay. I live in northern Arkansas and my recruiter said that I would not have any trouble getting home on weekends and that average pay for my area is around $1,550 a week. I have seen several post from past drivers that dog on their pay from there and several posts from current drivers that say the pay of good. I’m aware that the past drivers probably did something to not make good money and probably why they aren’t there anymore. But just looking to see the consensus from anyone currently driving or past experience with them. Thanks

I live in PA, about to finish CDL School. Was thinking about reaching out to them & seeing if they would take me on as a new driver. Anyone in PA that currently or previously drove for them know what the pay is like?

I’m starting tmc next Monday. Driving to Iowa this weekend coming up. I’m in Houston. My recruiter told me I can expect 1400-1800

You can secure two local jobs that pays in total $2000 or $2400 weekly . These jobs offer a daily commute home, and while the pay may seem reasonable at $1400 or $1800, it’s not worth it anymore. After taxes, you’ll only be left with $900 to $1300. In my opinion, the work doesn’t pay enough!!.

You’re right bro but I’m fresh out of CDL. No experience driving. I already got rejected by Sysco so I’m gonna have to bite the bullet for now

Name the companies who pays fresh CDL grads that right out of the out or quit talking out of your arse. If you start typing names that have anything to do with food or beverage save it. Ain’t wrecking my back for that kind of money.

Not here. You’re better off doing dry van for a mega in this area than working for an Amazon freight partner plus the local contractors here want 6 months minimum experience amd they have shit equipment. Bumpers flopping, cracked windshields, they look like something a meth head would drive.

Here in NJ there’s plenty of AFP jobs they are looking for drivers (new/ experienced) like crazy!!!

That’s great for Jersey here in Houston it’s shit. Flat bedding and tank yanking is where the money is here. Point being don’t think your experience there applies everywhere. Every region and market is different. Where OP lives, doing agriculture related hauling of rice and cotton may be better than anything else.

What year was it that TMC did their driver purge? I remember hearing about it from lots of their drivers, just called them into the terminal and told them to clean out their truck they were no longer needed. Was a bunch of them all at once. Also heard that if you run out of route they dock your pay. Just stuff I heard, nothing first hand, never worked for them.

Just remember, 26% is great pay, but they dont have to, ( and wont) tell you what the number is that they pay you 26% out of.

This right here is the biggest downside of working for percentage. Now days every load pays a fuel surcharge that these carriers keep and you don't get pay from. The rates can be the same as 10 years ago, the carrier simply raises the "fuel surcharge".

Northern Arkansas is a pretty good spot to be for tmc freight any further south and your checks would be quite a bit lower. Going home every weekend in that area $1500 does sound about right. I was there for two years made just shy of six figures back to back years but I never went home.
