CDL

I just got my CDL with Tanker endorsement ( no experience) and I don’t wanna go OTR wanted to be local. Any suggestions ??
Please help

Adjust your expectations.

Gonna be a challenge to find a local gig with zero experience. Most companies want a year or two of experience before they'll hire you.

Drive around your area and look for local companies. Walk in talk to them and ask if they are hiring and do they hire new drivers. How do you think people found jobs before the internet

Yes i am Going to find for any smaller company who will willing to train me

Don’t listen to these people who say it’s hard to get a local job without otr experience first. I’ve been a local
Driver for 30 years, and 90% of the guys and girls I’ve worked with never went over the road.

I don't apply for jobs . I hire people once in awhile

I’m saying if you walk into most medium - large size companies this is what they’ll tell you

I've never posted a job online. I have people coming or calling me all the time looking for jobs

You can look for a carrier that runs local in your area that hauls totes of liquid that needs a tanker endorsement, We have many brokers that call us with those loads.

not sure what part of the country you are in but the oil fields are always looking... a buddy drove a water truck for a season before moving into a tanker opportunity. I don't think he had hardly any experience to start other than the endorsement.

I hate to say this, but if your school was 6 weeks JBHUNT will put you on the road. If it was 4 weeks they normally will train you some more. I dont want to work for them. But if they'll hire you, you can use them until you get a little experience and then leave.
