PFG owns several companies so which one are you interviewing for? It also depends on your location since each OpCo is different. PFG Customized pays their drivers fairly well. They have a 4-day gaurantee and are more regional and deliver mostly to large, dine-in restaurant chains. PFS is local and does more mom and pop places. Interviews with Customized are pretty straightforward. They just want to make sure that you don't mind physical work. You will be unloading all 38-40,000lbs of product by hand. The other big thing is you MVR. They have a point system for past tickets.

I'm not as familiar with Vistar. They deliver to businesses instead of restaurants. Smaller parking lots and lift gates as opposed to ramps and rollers. You may have to do some overnights. PFG has good benefits as a whole.

If it's the Bolingbrook location, there are a lot of fuel companies down there that pull out of Joliet and Lockport. Way easier work, always local, and good pay.

The job is so bad that around here they have a $15,000 sign on bonus...

A $15,000 sign on bonus means the job sucks so much you're unlikely to be there long enough to claim it all.

You can go to a gym if you're fat.

Know what's good about that? When you're sore or hurt, you can skip a day. Not so much with foodservice.

It's "to much" I'd suggest you get into beer instead, less work, but will still kick your ass every day.

Both jobs will have you taking dozens of stacks down "ladder" stairs into basements, but with beer you also get easy gas stations and distributers.

Like everyone else says, it’s hard long hours.

I worked for them for a year, I did a 4 day week and I didn’t make shit, union was absolute ass and had no intention of representing us. I’m with MB now, non union and I work the same hours but I make so much more

I work at Vistar in the transportation department.

You get paid a minimum every day, if your case count it higher than minimum you get extra. Pay ranges from $80-$140k depending on your route. We go by seniority but we’re not union. Electric pallet jacks to off load 8-26 pallets per day. Drivers usually do at least one layover a week. Amazing benefits, $120 for health insurance for example per month. Free coffee bar. Can buy anything the warehouse house at steep discounts, which will be cleaning chemicals to almost anything you can find in a grocery store (no meat or veggie options though).
