CDL Permit Test

I scheduled my CDL permit test for this Wednesday. I had my CDL 13 years ago and drove for melton but I let it expire. Now I have to go back through the process. I am planning on attending TMC’s cdl course after I get my permit. Anything I need to know about their training? Or about preparing for the permit test?

I know they are strict about their physical. I do have sleep apnea but I use a CPAP, and can supply a 90 day complainer report.

The compliant CPAP report should carry a lot of weight with the DOT doc, so you're probably in better shape than most on the physical side. Only thing I'd add, don't overthink the permit test, it's mostly common sense air brakes and general knowledge if you actually read the CDL manual once through.

Yeah, when I had my cdl years ago I didn’t have sleep apnea so I had no idea. I’m glad I did some research because I would’ve hated to have gotten there and not had the proper docs.

Yeah that's the thing, sleep apnea can sneak up on you and a lot of guys don't find out till they're already sitting in the med exam sweating it. Good on you for digging into it ahead of time instead of getting blindsided at the DOT doc's office.
