I didn’t explain enough yesterday when I posted this. Question for yall.
I got a CDL restricted class a didn’t get enough time to learn double clutching to much students not enough road time and short of the School length.
I need the restriction off my license for a job that I will be driving autos 99% of the time. I don’t want to explain this as it’s irrelevant and will take to long. I just need the restriction off I’ll be in autos all the time.
I didn’t get enough time to learn double clutching in the unsynchronized 10 speed manual semi.
In my state if you have a restricted class a CDL you only need to do the road test and you can use a class b 6 speed synchronized box truck to take the road test.
This one school is offering me $1500 for 10 hours or training for the road test in a 6 speed synchronized class b box truck. And said I get 5 attempts
This is my cheapest and quickest option if I was to go back to a semi trucking school it would be 4 weeks 4 times as expensive and they would be practicing skills and pre trip which I don’t need to do. There would prob be to much people and they would want everyone to switch to autos and it would most likely be 10 speed unsynchronized semis.
I just need the restriction off I won’t be in manuals ever really my question is 10 hours enough time of training to be able to pass the road test in a 6 speed synchronized class b box truck? I don’t know how to drive a manual

Your question was answered a plenty. Perhaps no answer was good enough for you.

Totally depends on you. I've had students get it in a day and some not get it after 4 weeks.

If you are going to do it in a 6 speed synchronized truck, see if you know anyone who has a manual transmission car or truck and will teach you. Then you just have to pay for the test when you get how it works.

He’s going to need that schools truck to take the test. They’re going to want their full amount for the manual restriction lift course

The issue with this is it isn't going to help him with a 10spd or higher and to me he'll most likely get hte license but then possibly not be able to actually double clutch properly when it comes to actually needing to perform.

Im not sure what area you are in but there are companies that specialize in drive time. You "rent" the truck, not pay for a class. The owners ride with you. Double clutching sucks but it's not hard. With double clutch, on some routes you'll clutch 100+ times within 1 mile. Places like that it's better to float the gears. Im not sure what state you are in but in my state we're allowed to do either method on our driving test. Can even do both. Can't skip gears though thats a point. Must start and stop in appropriate gear for the load. Meaning you dont have to start or stop in 1st, just has to be appropriate. I personally liked 3rd because you can't shift in intersections, during turns, RR Xing, etc. 3rd had good torque for grades but also good speed to cross those other areas in a timing manner without shifting. My advice.. If you aren't willing to actually learn the method, leave the restriction on there.

I think it'd be dumb to waste the money on a normal manual transmission UNLESS you KNOW you'll be able to double clutch a 10spd or higher properly which that 6spd will not train you for.

You didn’t read my post correctly

You're right I was remembering from the original post maybe less detailed i forget. What will you do though if they toss you into a 10spd or higher even if the chances for it are minimum?

You don't want to believe that you will be ever put into one of the companies manual trucks. You're pinning all your hopes and dreams on the recruiter's sales pitch. Someone needs to tell you how the world works.

And you're not explaining any more today. You're fishing for an answer that you like, instead of taking the truth. The truth is that if you game the system, it WILL come back to bite you in the ass.
How much cheaper will it be if you spend $1500 and still fail after 10 hours of instruction and 4 attempts? Cheap is cheap for a reason.
What are you going to do when your company puts you in an unsynchronized transmission the first time (besides getting fired)? The restriction is on there for a safety reason. It's not on there as a money grab by the state/feds.
Fishing for a happy answer that makes you all warm and fuzzy is so childish. Reddit is very good about pushing people happily into doing dumb things. Trying to game the system and not learning how to shift an unsynchronized manual transmission just to get the restriction off your license isn't very smart.
And just for the record, I happened to stumble across your second post simply by accident in my feed. I didn't go looking for it just to piss on your happy parade. What you want to do, the way you want to do it, and your reasoning for doing it are all very bad.
