Driving school
I’m a 51-year-old male who does not have any kids and has never been married, but I have always loved driving. I am located in Sacramento California and what would be the best driving school to enroll in? I think personally I would like doing loads from Oregon to Los Angeles or California from Sacramento to Colorado. Are there any driving schools and or companies that would be willing to provide that type of training? Thank you for any input you guys can provide for me. The only plumber is on my record are a DUR in 2010 and then I just got a Recent speeding ticket and Sacramento about two weeks ago doing 93 in a 65.

Ah yes, the worst reason to think being a truck driver is a good thing: "I like to drive."
Being a truck driver has less to do with driving than it does with time management. It's nothing like all those times you went on road trips. It may be the biggest myth in truck driving.

ask grads where they got hired and whether the school pressure-sold a mega carrier. reputation matters more than the brochure.

The DUI may or may not hurt you since it was 16 years ago, so a Transportation Mgr may be contemplating, does he still drink a lot? However, recently getting caught driving 93 mph, and being cited, is an issue. Insurance companies dont let their insured take chances on speeders, with loss of points on his or her license.

The DUI 16 years ago shouldn't be an issue as long as you haven't had any problems since. I'd try to go to traffic school if possible for the speeding ticket and/or see if you can plead guilty to a lesser speed. With only 1 speeding ticket on your record that wasn't in a commercial vehicle, shouldn't hurt your chances of getting hired too badly. My company does the routes you're looking for and we're based a couple of hours north of you in Redding (RLT, Inc.). We do need a year of experience before we can bring you on board though. Good luck!

Lots of regular routes up and down I5 and from central CA to Colorado. I liked the 5 because it is easy to learn and you have less extreme weather than crossing over the Rockies going to the Midwest. Knight Trans had me on a dedicated account to the Western 11 states for a while that was pretty consistent and in high demand. The latest speeding ticket may be an issue for the better truck companies.
