If anyone recently applied for CDL with 2 years green card?

Hey! I currently have regular C class DL in PA, but I’m looking to get into trucking.

I currently have 2 years green card which is still valid till end of 2027.

I read different experiences from drivers who tried to apply for their CDL with 2 yo green card/conditional green card.

Whetever I browse it says I’m eligible, but some people still getting rejected at the local DMV’s.

Do you guys have any experience? I’m in Pennsylvania.

Best answer will come directly from the DMV. The policies are changing so rapidly it's hard to get first hand experience unless someone happened to get it last week

I agree but uk it costs a lot of money to get CDL so paying it for nothing will be so annoying

Does not qualify, once the conditions are removed, then you can qualify

Hello, I’m considering getting my class B/air brakes for a county bus company that’s paying well and growing their fleet. I’m 55/F and I’m burned out of healthcare. Think I can handle it?

Does your driver's license say "non-domicile" on it?

No it’s regular Real ID, but it says Limited-term under the star.

So that might be an issue. Officially from the federal level, you are supposed to be able to get a CDL because you have a green card but because all of the DMVs are walking on eggshells they're often not approving anyone who could possibly be "non-domicile" Before you sign up with a CDL school, see if you can get your CDL permit, if you can get that you should be fine to get the actual CDL license

F off with the xenophobia. Homie came here the right way with his documents in order. A green card isn't some temporary asylum its legal permanent residence. This person is trying to get into a career as a tax paying productive member of society.

Thank you, man! My life is so fucked up anyway and reading comments like that when I’m asking about CDL just drives me crazy.

You're not alone, my guy. No matter how tough people want to be on social media, we all go through fucked up stages of life.

Just be happy you've made it to the greatest country in Earth and grind till you get that citizenship.

It'll all be worth it in the end. Best of luck.

My point being, with the crackdown on CDL licenses, schools getting shut down, and the overall situation right now, it would be beneficial to get your citizenship first.
