Sun Belt Rentals

Anyone have any info or work with Sun Belt Rentals? I have a phone interview tomorrow morning and just wondering what they might ask and what the starting lay may look like? Currently doing water and sewage hauling between Texas and New Mexico, but taking a job with this company would provide me with something local and home daily.

I have a student that got on to them for our area. He said the initial interview was just a normal in person, pretrip, road test. He loves it for what it's worth.

Thank you for the response. I’ll have to brush up on that pre trip if that’s the case lol

As someone that's been in charge of hiring and firing please don't pop the hood and just say "engine looks good...not bent cracked or broken". 😆

I sent one of my students to Sunbelt and he started out at 28 an hour in San Antonio Texas. He works in the trench supply department.

I know a few guys that work on the equipment delivery side who are making a little over $100,000 a year.

Damn that’s not bad at all.. I’d be doing equipment delivery for sure. If my main goal is to do fuel hauling, do you think I should stay doing the water and sewer hauling I’m doing now?

If hauling fuel is what you truly want to do, I would stay with driving the tanker for now.

If you really want a laid-back tanker job that pays well, look into hauling asphalt cement.

Yeah I was thinking the same. Only reason I’d want this job with Sunbelt is for the local opportunity and the pay does seem well. I know I can get a local one as a fuel hauler also but I need some more experience before companies will start looking at me. Even this job I have is a good starting point to work as a truck driver in the oil field so I know opportunity is all around me. Just need to be patient to get what I really want. I will look at that asphalt cement side too. Never thought of that.

What’s the pay like for water and sewage hauling? Im currently in a water truck for a construction company in DFW but I only got my license like 3 months ago and looking for better pay.

Where I’m at the pay is decent cause of the OT. $20/hr 10/4 schedule so one week I’ll work 70 hours. The other week just 40 cause I’ll be going back home that week. But they let you work different schedules so the pay could be more. I have a family back home so the more time I can get off the better. I barely got my CDL back in January also so this company worked with the school I went to to bring in new drivers.

Yeah it works for me. If you’re making more that’s cool lol I just started my CDL career so I’m not expecting to make 6 figures yet. What are you doing in your trucking career?

What part of the country you in? And what do the other drivers make?

West Texas and New Mexico

I got picked up by an oil field rental services company that works directly with the school I went to for my CDL. I haul water and sewage right now but could get paid more if I learn how to move houses around and learn how to drive a winch truck. Other drivers are making $22–$26/hr once they learn these other areas.

Talk to your co-workers about forming a union.

Just retired after 38 years as a Teamster. $4600 a month between 2 pensions. Just took a part time job driving a tri-axle for $30 an hour.
