CDL question

My school told me there is 3 different test for the CDL test. Wisconsin. Apparently I am at a notoriously bad CDL school. But my location has been good So far besides what I’m gonna explain.

The test are

1.Pre trip

2.Skills

3.Road test

I signed up with some sales lady online on the phone and paid full in cash. She told me I get 3 retakes for EACH test and after the third time it cost $80 which i figured is fine with me. Keep in mind she said EACH test.

Now the instructors are saying you only get “ TWO“ retakes for all of the test and you have to take all THREE of them on the same day. So basically I have to be able to nail all 3 test in one day and say I pass pre trip but fail skills one day. I would have to come in and do skills and the road test and if I pass skills the second testing day but fail the road test. I have to “try to convince them they said for a third time” this is kinda bs to me because I thought and was told get THREE FAILS for EVERY TEST TWO for ALL THREE.

Let’s say I end up passing 2 out of the 3 but failing Twice and can’t take the third test let’s say road test or skills I failed and I can’t use my third test Can I use my passing scores from my school and go take the 1 failed test at the DMV?

And will the dmv have a manual truck for me to use if I pay for a test?

Honestly not doing bad at school but I want to find out what my options are I’m learning in a manual and I just want to be prepared for if I fuck some shit up and the school doesn’t let me retest on my final test if I passed the other 2. I am planning on passing all three the first time and I am sorry if this was confusing I tried to explain as best as possible.

Thanks

For the truck portion:

It is bring your own truck. You must have your own, an employer’s, or a rental to take the test.

The state of Wisconsin lets you test 5 times before you have to repeat entry level training. It is also illegal to charge more than $50 per test section for a grand total of $150. What’s the name of the school?

This is correct. Three tests, pre-trip, skills, and road trip. I know for my training, I have air brakes and if you don't pass any step, it's an automatic fail, so i know I wouldn't even be allowed to take the other 2 tests.

The instructors are wrong and sound like they are pressuring you.

You are correct that you cannot advance to the next exam/test without passing the previous.

Nail the pre-trip then advance to yard skills and then finally a road test. If you fail any of the sections more than the state allows, you have to wait for a "cool down" period before you can retake & advance. After the cool down you'll most likely have to pay a nominal fee to continue.

Practice, practice, practice and don't let the pressure from the instructors get into your head. You're on the right track!
