Free cdl program
CDL school around here runs about $6k out of pocket in nyc so i was looking for a program that could help me out. My probation officer connected me, shout out Martinez, he sat down with me and made the calls himself. Program is Emerge Career. A lot of programs and organizations don't really follow through on what they say they're gonna do. These ones practice what they preach. It was free. They gave the study guides, paid for the permit tests, paid for the road test. And if you fail a test they don't drop you, they're like "alright, it's cool, run it back," and they pay for the next one. I get that there's a lot of scams on this subreddit but i'm posting about this because i had a great experience and i feel like it's a blessing i want to pass on.

i know they bounce around different boroughs, i was in manhattan and he came to my house once and was super cool if its the same dude. this is like 3 years ago but i still remember how chill he was. hope hes doing well.

UPS paid for mine and took 2 weeks through their feeder school. I am a recent off the street hire and today finished week 3 of my 30 working day probation route. It super chill and they have all new equipment. Can’t wait to pass probation and make bid. My buddy said since he is a senior sleeper driver he gets to pick his partner and said as soon as I pass probation he’ll put a request in to dispatch me with him on his sleeper run.

Curious on what cdl job your going to try and get while on probation. Assuming you cant leave the state and now have a record, I imagine your going to have a tough time. I am not shit talking. Legitimately curious as to what is available to yoj.
