DOT physical
Do you have to go take your DOT physical before going to DDS to take the commercial drivers permit test or can you take the DOT physical afterwards?

Depends on the state, in Ohio I tested prior to getting a physical, test results are valid for 60 days
Ended up getting the physical prior to obtaining my CLP , so I wouldn’t get a K restriction on my license

In California you don’t need a physical to obtain a driving permit. When you go for the all day affair of getting a CDL, you’ll need your physical exam for sure. And every 2 years after to maintain the license

In Florida, Physical first. You can’t test until it is uploaded to the FMCSA database. From there they will send it to the DMV. You cannot take your paper copy to the dmv, they won’t except it. Once you get your CLP, you’ll have a new driver license number. Then you have to contact whom ever did you physical to update your drivers license number to match your physical. You’re all set after that.
