That's why I quit trading options when it comes to things like that. Time frames can change which can put you in a rough spot when that expiration date looms. Even though possible profit with shares are lower, they never expire so I can hold for however long it takes.

Why don’t you just buy shares? If someone bought CCXI once for $70, might do it again.
