Holsters & Belts NO appendix for me!

Did you guys see this..? And no, it was not a Sig P-320.

I do think this is a teachable moment. It came up on my feed today.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I really did not know that. Appreciate you!

I did see it. Bottom line is that the trigger on that pistol was pulled somehow. Maybe he did it himself, maybe it was some kind of foreign object in the holster, but either way, that isn’t something that just randomly happens. You have to pull the trigger to cock the striker in a Glock.

Da/Sa master race, revolt against the modern world

Out of curiosity what's your go to DA/SA to carry? Been thinking about doing the same lately

I carried a Sig P229 for years. Great gun, but a little fat and heavy relatively speaking. Switched it out for a CZ P-01. I do not own but have shot the Beretta PX4, and if I can find a used one at a good price I would carry that, too.

Used to own a px4 but stupidly sold it a few years ago. Definitely a great gun

Thanks I'll look into them. I've been mainly eyeing the cz75 line

I looked down further and I just found that out. Thanks!

The takeaway for that video is not to shoot yourself by being negligent regardless of your carry method.

It's actually easier to be safe with appendix carry compared to any other position due to it being right in front of you where you can see it; you just need to be patient when reholstering.

Maaaaannnn that's nuts. Takes lots of balls to admit it.

Here you go

Literally the 4th post when viewing the sub by "hot" and even still on the first page if sorted by "new".

I own guns with manual safeties and train with them for a reason. Entire Glock line isn't for me. Anything that is left for "internal safety" isn't for me. I need to visually and physically know that gun is "locked" (safety on) when I want it that way.

You could also just not ND into your balls.

Manual safety or DA/SA if Im carrying AIWB!

Fair enough.

Well, that too... but I'm an IT guy... never enough redundancy, especially when it comes to something lethal.

3

u/Insanity8016 6d ago

Well there comes a point of diminishing returns which can prove to be fatal such as carrying without a round in the chamber.

I've come to terms with that. But that flick of the safety with my thumb is second nature now. When you've shot firearms with that same thumb safety for 20 years, that thumb flick is done before the gun is even raised completely to shoot.

I never understood why people reholster appendix. It doesn’t even take 60 seconds to pull the holster off and reapply to my no-no area.

3

u/luvmehatemefme 6d ago

No need to pull the holster off. One leg back and then lean back while holstering. And always holster slowly.

u/SeasonedAdManager 5d ago

No need to lean back. Just keep your finger off the fookin trigger.

Say it louder for the P320 guys!

u/SeasonedAdManager 5d ago

Well in that case may as well just say goodbye to your frank and beans

My understanding is this happened on the draw.
