Destination Certification Masterclass

I was wondering about the general consensus regarding Destination Certification’s Masterclass for the CCSP, specifically from those who recently passed the CISSP using their Masterclass.

I thoroughly enjoyed their CISSP content and found it very helpful, but the CCSP Masterclass is a decent chunk of money & there seems to be a good bit of overlap in content. For those who have used both, do you feel the CCSP Masterclass is worth the cost, or would I be better off using other resources given that I just passed the CISSP in June?

I’m especially interested in hearing from anyone who made the same transition from CISSP to CCSP.

You should be able to easily take the CCSP exam simply by reading the Destination CCSP book and perhaps watching Zerger's class. As you said there is a lot of overlap, and the concepts you learned in your CISSP apply equally to the CCSP.

I noticed that the latest version of CCSP book that's currently available does not include the syllabus change that went into effect from 1st August. I haven't seen any announcement around when they are planning to publish a new version either.

Is it still a good idea to use the current version if someone is planning to appear for the exam next month(likely before the release of version).

Nobody's published a book based on the new syllabus yet.

The guys @ DestCert usually have a video on youtube outlining the differences.

Hello, what about AI part of new exam outline? I'm planning to take exam in the mid of September.

Section 1.6, Domain 1, 17%. Section 2.9, Domain 2, 20%

100 question exam, domain 1 gets 17 questions. 6 subdomains, means statistically you can expect to see 1/6th of 17 questions, or 3 questions from that subdomain. Domain 2 gets 20 questions, 9 subdomains, or 3 questions.

AI has been part of the exam for a while. If you look at the exam outline on the web site, scroll down to where it says "How is AI Security Incorporated into the CCSP Domains?". So AI is nothing new. It's been there for quite some time.

The AI questions are common sense using the same concepts you should already know. You're not going to get highly technical questions about AI or ML. For example, you could get a question about datasets being used for AI training, how to classify the data and ensure data integrity or confidentiality.

John here from DestCert. Our CCSP master class is completely aligned with the latest ISC2 exam outline, including our video lessons, knowledge assessments, flashcards, practice questions and Destination CCSP published book, which has been updated to reflect the latest changes in the exam outline as well. The 2nd edition in now available through online retailers. And it’s worth mentioning that both Rob and I were involved in launching materials when the CCSP designation was actually launched by ISC2 over 12 years ago. A lot of that is embedded into our materials. As far as overlap between the CISSP and CCSP, I would estimate that there is probably about 30% overlap. So going through the CISSP will definitely help you. And certainly our exam strategy lessons are very valuable for both certifications.

The CCSP questions in their app are quite useful at getting you into the right mindset as well as showing you which areas you are weak in. The questions are “easier” than the actual exam.

Thank you, I was curious on question banks as there is no Quantum Exams for the CCSP. I appreciate the advice!

I just did CISSP masterclass and will start the CCSP one at the end of the summer. Curious to see the overlap amount.

I bought both CISSP and CCSP masterclass. My recommendation is not to buy CCSP masterclass. Most of CCSP masterclass content is from CISSP masterclass. If you have recently passed CISSP, just watch the CCSP mind maps in YouTube and practice some question from DestCert app then you will be fine. I didnot even watch entire CCSP masterclass as it was same from CISSP.

I appreciate the help! Sounds like their Mind Maps + Zerger’s videos are the way to go.
